Franklinia alatamaha, imago a Gulielmo Bartram anno 1782 facta.

Franklinia est monotypicum familiae Theacearum genus, cuius sola species est Franklinia alatamaha, arbor florens (usitate in America Septentrionali appellata Franklin tree), quae in valli Altamahae Fluminis in Georgia in Civitatibus Foederatis meridio-orientalibus endemica est. Planta ex Beniamino Franklinio appellatur.

Planta fuit exstincta in locis feris post saeculum undevicensimum iniens, sed superest ut arbor ornamentalis exculta. Descendunt omnes Frankliniae arbores exstantes ex seminibus a Gulielmo Bartram collectis et in Horto Bartram Philadelphiae propagatis.[2]
