Image is a 5 panel comic drawn by the OP, LadyLibido Panel 1 Image depicts a monstrous character, Xerxes, seated behind a large desk, pointing to a couple of pages on the desk. A woman, Ketna, is in the middle of withdrawing a chair to seat herself on the other side of the desk, looking down at the papers Xerxes is pointing to. Another figure is to the side, holding a Notary ledger. Xerxes and Ketna are speaking to one another and the dialog is as follows: Xerxes: Gonna need you to sign these. Wanna make sure you don't snitch if anyone questions you. Ketna: Riiiight... Panel 2 Ketna is looking at the first paper in the pile. Text on the panel is thought to herself and not spoken out loud. Ketna: An NDA? Sure, why not. Panel 3 Ketna has picked up another paper in her other hand, with an indication that she is surprised. The text on the panel is also a thought, not spoken out loudd Ketna: wait- what is.. !? Panel 4 Ketna's head is lifted in up with a paper in hand, facing to address Xerxes. This one she speaks out loud. Ketna: This is a marriage license Panel 5 Xerxes looks unmoved, confused, boarding on annoyed. Xerxes: Yeah? What's your Point? Ketna: ...ALT

I’ve had this dumb thing in my head for a bit now. Spousal Privilege is a great way to ensure all their conversations remain confidential and more difficult to use for testimony. (not full-proof I know, but hey any advantage is still an advantage.)

Something something legally recognized ownership of another person. Something something, indentured servitude isn’t legal, but this is as close as it gets.

The real question is, does Ketna’s cover identity’s name get to keep the last name or will she take Xerxes’ first name as her last name.

I think the girl is more desperate for people she can safely sleep with, (like actually sleep, not euphemism sleep) than she is for sex. (asking @shadderstag ’s character HartLee, to spend the night, with)

Sex is easy to find
Sex where she can completely let go and not worry, a fair decent bit more difficult but she has a few candidates
People she can go to sleep next to and cuddle with (which would also put her in a position where she can’t hide her identity) are in very short supply, because she has to trust them with the former in the first place, then not have to be worried about the potential fallout of her identity being revealed.
