In the comc I have been reading, there was a text written by Marv Wolfman on how he expierenced writing Batman and Robin

Tim Drake was named after Tim Burton?

Is that common knowledge?

I don't know what to do with this information, so I am just throwing it into the void of tumblr.

Also that is how I learend that Tim Burton made a Btaman movie. TBF I have never watched a single live-action Batman movie in my life. My knowledge is just straight up comic lore.

Superbat thoughts

  • Bruce knowing that Clark's listening to him and purposefully trying to rile him up while they're in a meeting because no one else can hear.

  • Bruce doing yoga and stretches to make sure he doesn't pull anything- but when it's revealed he's that flexible Kent ends up in the family guy death pose.

  • Clark knowing how tight the muscles in Bruce's legs and shoulders get, so whenever possible he'll sneakily slip a hand onto the point of tension and squeeze just on that side of too hard, or vibrate his hand to try and relax the muscle. Cut to Bruce fighting for his life under the mask not to melt into his chair at the sudden relief Clark's hands bring.

  • Diana is usually the first call for babysitting the boys when Bruce is out- but the last time he let her babysit, she taught them all to use lassos and all hell broke loose. So this time he asks Kent. The only issue when he returns this time, is that the boys refuse to let him leave and are determined that "No, he's staying."

I love a character raised to be a weapon as much as the next guy. But what really gets me is a character raised to be a shield. Who can’t fathom being needed—or even being wanted— beyond keeping others safe. Who believe they are alive only to insure someone doesn’t die. no matter the cost. Characters who self-sacrifice not because they think they deserve it, but because no one else does deserve it, and it’s their job to protect.

Characters who’ve been told that’s why your important. Your worth something because this other person/ thing is important, and you are here solely to keep them safe.

Bonus points if it’s not a legitimate job they’ve been given. Maybe at one point it was, but now that they are free from it, they haven’t given up that mentality. No one is forcing or asking them to do this, but they need to. They need to in order to be deserving.

the batkids are strong in their own rights. they're used to protecting their friends and loved ones. they are the protective one in their teams.

however, whenever Bruce is around, all of a sudden they became kittens held by the mother. all those protective instincts? gone. they are now with their father and their job is to duck or satay away or run to safety when instructed. jumping in front of harm's way? that's dad's job. them's the rules.
