On this years Volumfestivalen I am exhibiting some of my pictures! This is what they wrote:
26 years old Lena Isaksen from Elverum makes a return visit to Volumefestivalen this year. The photographer made acquaintance with Volumfestivalen first time in 2010. Much has happened since.
Lena is perhaps more than ever sure of what she wants with her photography, expression and which projects she will put to life. She has gradually started with motion pictures, and did her first film in 2012, directing and screenwriting Team Me’s music video for the monster hit “With My Hands Covering Both of My Eyes I am Too Scared To Have a Look at You Now.”
The video was rewarded with the award for best music video by the british Amazing Radio.
Lena`s images are organic, which feels warm and welcome at a time when Photoshop often makes the photograph into something static and stereotyped. With a well thought out and executed composition, she demonstrates simple, everyday moments with a clean and clear look à la Gregory Crewdson. Despite staging, emerging feeling at the moment real, and perhaps it is precisely this awareness of what is happening in the picture that makes the once so far.
Lena graduated from “Norsk Fotofagskole” as a proffesional photographer. You will see her and her photoseries “Farvel/Goodbye” at this year’s Volume Festival. We also meet Lena in a separate photo workshop during the festival, where she will take us on a journey from an idea pops up to the physical result.
View Lena’s director debut here: “With my hands covering both of my eyes I am to scared to have a look at you now”I`m really looking forward to this summer!
Take care.
