JESSE MCSM HIGH AS FUCK AT THE MINECRAFT MOVIE
JESSE MCSM IS GOING TO THE MINECRAFT MOVIE
bro i LOVE indigenous fusion music i love it when indigenous people take traditional practices and language and apply them in new cool ways i love the slow decay and decolonisation of the modern music industry
I WILL !!! I WILL DO THAT
some of my favourite indigenous artists, in no particular order:
Inuit artists:
- the jerry cans (esp their album Inuusiq)
- beatrice deer
- twin flames
Māori artists:
Indigenous australian artists:
- tilly tjala thomas (i particularly love ngai yurlku nhiina)
- kardajala kirridarra (srlsly check out ngajabu (Grandmother’s Song))
- i’ve also heard good things abt Baker Boy, but i haven’t checked out his stuff yet
Another one for Inuit artists is Piqsiq! Two sisters who’ve been doing traditional throat singing since they were kids. They make some really gorgeous, eerie, atmospheric stuff. Highly recommend watching this video of them performing live a cappella using a looping machine, because they might be the coolest people on the planet actually
(Jo March nearly in tears voice) women,,,,
For anyone into North Asian and Central Asian folk music, there’s this incredible Siberian folk-pop band called Otyken! The group is mostly women and they’re from multiple indigenous groups in Siberia, with songs being sung in their range of different languages. They’re so much fun and their music videos are amazing!
i’ll go ahead and recommend The Halluci Nation (formerly known as A Tribe Called Red), an EDM group from First Nations Ontario that do really cool fusions of First Nations music with dubstep, moombahton, and hip hop.
I really really really appreciate people who share videos on posts like these, because almost without a doubt every time I love the music but I’ve never got the spoons to click on links and look through a bunch of music or worse google the artist I always end up too overwhelmed to start and I hate that
Haven’t seen Belle Sisoski here yet so here we go: she’s the current Artist of Year for BURO impact Awards. She’s from Malaysia and knows how to play an insane amount of ethnic instruments and mixes them with her own voice. She does covers and her own songs, mixes ethnic instruments with Techno and shows the process. And she’s also a live DJ at 19!
And one of her own:
Oh and of course there’s also the HU and Bloodywood for people who like more rock and metal mixed in:

I do actually care marginally about the guy in that reddit screenshot who voted for Trump and is now worried that he might lose his medicaid funding because I did not fucking stutter when I said healthcare is a human right but the people losing their internships and job offers to the hiring freeze are straight up hilarious.
My mom was telling me about this YouTube video she watched (I can’t remember the name, sorry) where the person shared a screenshot of some MAGA voter from Florida asking for help, because his wife had been hired for a nursing job with the VA in Texas, so they sold their house and were preparing to move. But they rescinded her job offer after Trump’s executive order. The post from the guy was basically like “I already contacted Senator Ted Cruz’s office, and they said they couldn’t do anything about this. Please help me get this story to President Trump, we love him! We voted for him 3 times! And we know this was just a mistake and he’d help us!”
Just……………..a part of me laughs, and another part of me thinks about how cult followers genuinely believe that the cult leader cares about them
This is the part about believing in universal human rights that can be a bit difficult: they’re universal, and should never be denied anyone, no matter who they are or what they have done.
You can be – you should be – furious with people who voted for Trump, for wilfully trying to sabotage those rights and make them conditional, a privilege for the “deserving”, a privilege they can deny the “wrong” kind of people.
And when the MAGA crowd are hit by the consequences of their actions, and denied basic human rights because it turns out their Great Leader doesn’t actually include his followers among the privileged, it’s tempting to say that they deserve to be denied those rights, because that’s what they wanted to do to others.
But if you do that, you don’t truly believe that those rights should be universal; you just have a different idea than the MAGA crowd about who should be included among the privileged.
You can still tell the MAGA who’s crying that the leopards ate there face that you’re angry with them for letting the face-eating leopards loose. But you shouldn’t be fine with their face being eaten.
It took me ages to find this post again but. Yeah. Same energy
This is exactly it, thank you!!

lying down for 50 minutes to imagine in real time the experience of walking to trader joes and buying a single pea and walking back home and getting out a cutting board and a knife and skinning and chopping one pea and sprinkling it into a tank with one fish in it
When i used to work at Whole Foods i would make and freeze my sandwiches for the week but since frozen lettuce is an abomination and a whole head of lettuce is Way too much for a single broke college student who doesn’t even really like salad that much, each lunch break i would go to the by-weight salad bar and carefully purchase one single small lettuce leaf. All of my coworkers mocked me relentlessly for it but it cost like $0.01 and half the time it was too light for the scale so they’d just shove it towards me like “Just take it, man.” Through such cunning means i probably spent like a dollar total on lettuce in 2 years
just saying. we got a lot in common, the humble betta fish and I

Transmisogynists who say all of the trans women they see talk about transmisogyny are white women so it must be a ‘white woman’ issue and not a serious one when I show them this
and trans women of color who do talk about transmisogyny get so much hate that they are quite literally run off platforms and are scared to speak out

Bisexual hater opinion time but every single one of those posts that’s like “a man could never love a woman like i do” or “the way i look at women is the polar opposite of the way straight men do” make me cringe sooooo so bad. For one you’re taking the lowest common denominator of heterosexual relationships and applying it across the board to all men but then also declaring yourself ontologically incapable of ever stooping to the lows that those men do. You could never objectify a woman’s body and not care much about her personality or dismiss a woman’s feelings or abuse a woman’s trust in you simply by the pre ordained fact of lesbianism flowing through your body. And that’s not even getting into the fact that these sentiments nearly always come from tme lesbians who have a vested interest in not analyzing how their treatment of transfems overlaps with how men treat us and women generally nearly one to one
