Trash movie that fits into the odd Venn diagram of things that I like. College setting, silent stalker slashing his victims, some memorable kills, and really weird characters.
You can tell the heavy influence from Halloween, just releasing 3 years prior, from the knife choice, killer stalking through trees, and even some of the shots have similar imagery. They actually did some cool shots, notably the food tray conveyor belt bits. And I will say some of the jump scares…

I want to give this 3 stars because honestly, I had a good time with it. I think the thing I am struggling with is that it is a pretty decent slasher....just not a good TCM movie, if that makes any sense. WHERE DID THE CANNIBALISM GO?!

As someone who has been dying for a Court of Owls adaptation, this was very close to it and I love Matt Reeves for it. It felt and looked like a graphic novel and I can’t get over how awesome that is.
