A better Joker film than Todd Phillips could ever hope to make, with an aesthetic anarchy that would make its title character proud. Very much a no-budget project but manages to craft an eye-popping visual style in spite of that, mixing pixelated digital sets, puppets, stop motion, and 2d animation where the inconsistency becomes a style unto itself.
