Watched this because of Jake Gyllenhaal and he didn’t disappoint. Michael Bay dials down on his (in)famous Baysplosions and it’s for the the better. I do like his explosions and the way he captures them, but sometimes enough is enough. Sad to say he found something else to throw at us in the form of ‘drone shots’. Heavily featured in the promotion of the film and I’m not impressed. Some of them look cool, others okay and for the most part I found them to not contribute anything at all to the overall atmosphere. Also another example of why most of the cool shots of Bay fail is his toddler like approach to editing his movies. Should’ve edited a half hour of and it would’ve been a much better movie. For the most part this is just what you expect out of an Michael Bay movie and it’s semi-saved by Gyllenhaal. 

And what’s up with Bay referencing his own movies now? 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️
