girls this absolute and total gag....where is demi moore's oscar! where is the supporting actress oscar for her mascara! the body horror is so delicious like the transformation scene? aka the thinking woman's twilight: breaking dawn: part 1 vampire birth scene? the suspiria of it all? the carrie of it all? dennis quaid's character is definitely too over the top and in the first 10 minutes i found myself wondering what i think a good feminist satire would be but honestly its like 70% of this. the inherent violence of cosmetic surgery and makeup and beauty!!!!!!! gorgeous.

i do think that. while i guess i can get it ideologically. i wish they let margaret qualley's character do more than shake her ass? literally? like it gets old very fast. she hosts her aerobics class with camera shots exclusively of her ass and thats it. she gets in the car to go out with friends once and it skips right back to her kissing a guy at her apartment before it goes right into horror. like surely if you were going to be young again you'd do more than work? and i get shes supposed to be shallow but its harder to accept she's universally beloved or something when she's just like. addison rae? and you just know the only people who care about her are aggressively horny straight men and the most annoying gay men you know? because she doesnt have any personality?

every demi scene is a 5/5 and almost all the margaret ones (except her first and last) is a solid 3/5. it evens out in the end to something incredible.
