A worthy addition to the film-as-meditation canon, a subgenre I have come to appreciate at the very festival where I now got to watch this film.
With only a few modest cinematic flourishes, and with the most moving post-storm nature sequence this side of Bambi, Olthaar and her team wisely get out of the way to let the sublimity of their subject speak for itself, immersing the audience gently but fully into the overwhelming (and, in this viewer's case, sorely missed) spectacle of the mountains. She even manages to find a subtle kind of humor in the absurdity of the contrast between the smallness of humans and the immovability of the Earth itself.
Naturally, I should have seen (and heard!) this on the big screen - but even on a smaller screen, Berg's impact is impossible not to be felt in your very bones.
