Roy Johnson hall of fame piece of shit
I mean, if there’s anything to be learned from this, it's never joining a “school” whose initials are literally BS and whose coach uses fecken Surge Knight as a model. Bigger red flags than that are impossible!
It was hysterical to see how this dude started asking how to not look like a con man and piece of s**t and as the doc went on, he did everything in his power to look like them. It's also pretty sad to see how many of these kids lives were ruined because of this. Wish them for the best. As for the doc, it was alright. It started to feel a little too redundant after a while and the doc as a…
Bro watched the Scott’s Tots episode of The Office one too many times
I remember when this happened. It’s such an insane story that not even Hollywood could believably script. Roy Johnson who ran the whole operation is such a sociopathic scumbag.
Over the course of 90 minutes, you get a look into what seemed like a funny story of a made up football school getting pummeled on national tv. Sure I laughed out loud at these 20 year olds getting absolutely smoked by high school kids, just moments after their pregame cockiness made them seem NFL bound. But all you have to do is listen to the head coach talk and you know this guy is a full blown sociopath, giving immature boys a false hope and scamming them for everything he could.
Having watched a lot of Last Chance U, it’s always sad seeing all these young men unaware of the chances they really have of making it to the…
The most insane story in modern sports history. Holy shit Roy Johnson is a horrible person.
If you think you know this story, I promise you really don’t.
The press and memes were funny, but there was so much evil at work behind the scenes. I’m honestly in awe with how this documentary unpacks all of it.
Roy Johnson thinks he’s a hero, being treated like a villain. Instead, he is exactly what this doc paints him as: the symptom of yet another (really, multiple) systemic failure within America, contributing to the exploitation of its youth, especially and specifically in athletics.
My heart is heavy for these young men and their families.
Watch this documentary if you want to listen to a legitimately evil psychopath lie for 90+ minutes
Very interesting doc, mainly because the subject matter is just so unbelievable. "Coach" Roy Johnson is a real piece of work.
it just keeps getting crazier
A charismatic conman with sprinkles of racism and religion, who is a proud and open liar, creates a fake school to pray on the dreams of the undereducated and disenfranchised, all while dodging dozens of lawsuits, a domestic abuse charge, tearing down unwritten moral codes, and not paying his lawyer. And the people he is screwing over think he may be their savior. And even after he is exposed as a fraud, he laughs with joy and vows to do it all over agin.
This doc is about the American dream, greed, for profit education, and sports and it is one of the most unsettling films I’ve seen in years due to its protagonists complete lack of remorse. It’s up there with Jesus Camp and Gummo for me.
Fascinating, but I feel filthy.
