Matteo’s review published on Letterboxd:
I was surprised how funny this movie was. Along with the audience, I fell in love with Ivan, because he seemed so lovely in the beginning. Then, in the middle he began waving red flags. I felt so bad for Anora/Annie at the end because he disrespected her hard and it came from left field. I thought he was going to be her prince charming as she did too. Additionally, I’d like to mention that there were some not so great words used throughout the film like f****t. It felt it was used with the intention to degrade and be used in “humorous” banter, but fell so short. It’s acceptable when a queer person uses the word f****t but not str8’s. No queer representation either. Ultimately, I was entertained even if it was annoying at times.
