Grand Theft Hamlet

Grand Theft Hamlet

As many others have said, Grand Theft Hamlet is at its best when it’s being its most genuinely authentic self. It is a tiny bit disappointing that the staged/scripted parts (besides the Hamlet scenes themselves) felt like they were added in because the creators doubted themselves and didn’t think the core of the film, performing Hamlet in Grand Theft Auto Online during a global pandemic lockdown, would be captivating enough for audiences. Still, it’s just so unique and has so much raw authenticity that it’s hard to ding it too much for those few shortcomings.

My favorite part:

Bernardo: Have you had quiet guard?

Police helicopter flies loudly overhead

Francisco: Not a mouse stirring.

A few moments later, the cops rain gunfire upon Francisco, killing him.
