Riff Raff

Riff Raff

Riff Raff feels like a movie that can’t quite decide what it wants to be. It delivers a fair share of laughs, but just as many moments that feel out of place or tonally inconsistent. The performances are all solid—I especially enjoyed the characters DJ and Ruth—but the script never fully supports the cast’s efforts. While the humor kept it from dipping below a 2.5/5 for me, there wasn’t much else to elevate it beyond just passable entertainment. I’ll be curious to see if it holds up on a rewatch at home, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it ends up feeling even less engaging outside of a theatrical setting and potentially drops down to a 2/5 upon a rewatch.
