out of all of lynch's earlier movie i still often find that blue velvet is my favorite; however, this has to be the most formative movie of my entire life. i don't think i would view our universe, let alone art, quite the same as i do. i owe so much to this movie and its abstractions. i have no idea how i stumbled upon this at 16, but god am i happy i did.
