Too dramatic and obvious. Not nearly as profound or progressive as it might appear on first glance. Beautiful cinematography and coloring (love the reds), rad soundtrack, impressive performances (especially Castellitto). Great first two acts, third act could've wrapped better but still satisfying. My kind of dialogue.

Wish it was saying something more interesting but hard to fault the movie for not being something it wasn't trying to be. Would love to read this more as commentary on American politics but it just literally isn't. In fact it hardly has that much to say beyond the most surface level about catholicism.

This is maybe coming off as negative, but thought it was an incredibly esthetically appealing and well executed political thriller, just not a ton of meat on the bones.
