This looked great. Possibly the most Terry Gilliam Terry Gilliam has ever Terry Gilliam'd.
There was some good humour in here too and a few surreal but funny moments.
The pacing though, good God. Less than an hour in, I was struggling. The story really really really drags. Also, the central plot being a "love" story about the most underdeveloped character in the film? I know this was 1985, but it was so shallow! Lowry was lusting after Jill because he'd dreamt about her, then in nearly 2 hours of painfully long scenes, Jill continues to be about as 1 dimensional as it's possible to be.
I wanted to like this because it has the surreal whimsy I enjoyed in The Fisher King, but I was struggling to keep watching.
Too long. Too slow.
