Nothing can never ever top the first Jaws.
This movie is actually a really good shark movie, they show the shark way way more in this than the first and they actually can do this this time due to the mystery kinda being gone by now and the fact that the shark wasn’t a pain in the ass to use this time around and was mechanically sounder.
The sharks death is arguably better/cooler than the first movie’s, however no where near as iconic I mean come on smile you son of a bitch.
For some odd reason even though this film released only 3 years on from the first, Brody’s eldest son is now a 17 year old beast from the Middle East instead of being around 14/15 timeline wise. It makes sense for the plot but it’s just weird.
The lack of Steven is definitely noticed, but it’s still shot very well and the soundtrack is still banging as it is done by the same person as the first.
Barely any deaths in this movie, not saying it’s a bad thing just something to note. By the time you get an hour into this movie the shark has barely even been in the film but the last hour is definitely more action packed.
Overall decent cold classic still, no where near as good as the first but still a solid movie
3 and a half stars.(fatty)
