Linn's doodles and art |
Hi, I'm Linn! | she/her| adult | artist | Norway | Welcome to my art blog ART TAGS: Dragon age | Owari no seraph | Voltron | Elfquest | My Art (everything) |
People used to comment on web comics.
People used to comment on fanfiction.
People used to comment on fanart.
People used to comment on OCs.
I hate “content” culture.
I hate “consuming content” and scrolling immediately to the next thing.
People used to be excited about the art that other people created.
People used to want to share that excitement with creators.
I hate this future.
Once someone tagged art that I made with “woah” and I think about it at least once a week. Someone else said “oh neat” once. Someone else WROTE A WHOLE DAMN POEM IN THE COMMENTS. Anyways even just one word can change how someone sees their art. You don’t even have to think about it too hard. You could put a keyboard smash and I’d probably cry from joy.
I’m also trying hard to interact more, I understand that it’s hard to break away from opening your phone and being in Content Consumption Mode.
I honestly hadn’t stopped to think about this until I saw this post… I used to think people would get annoyed if they were notified everytime someone posted a comment on their art. I never thought about it being like fanfiction and that they might appreciate comments. Frick, that means I’m part of the problem on here. Thats gotta change.
Every tag, every comment, every reblog with some kind of reaction/opinion or even just one word. All of these things are precious to creators!
I spent countless hours reading and rereading tags full of love people left under my art. All the people i could gift a laugh to or even inspire with something I made mean more to me then you could ever know.
It’s what makes me proud of my art!
And to think that you could have enjoyed my art in silence and I would have never known.
A very special shout out to the person who tagged “these mcgriddles make me want to shit so bad” on fanart in 2013 I think about you once a day
I love every comment I get on my art! It’s so nice to see people interacting with what has taken me hours to make. Even if your comment takes a couple seconds to write out it makes my day that you took time to do it :)

Glorious art I commissioned back in 2021 from the amazing @linnpuzzle , featuring the main characters of my (soon to be finished!) urban fantasy novel A Werewolf in October. Posting it now to celebrate that I’m on track with my editing and should be able to fully declare the whole project “done” next year 🥳
In the first picture, from left to right, you have:
1) Isha, monster hunter in training.
2) Arturo, reluctant vampire.
3) Jayla, enthusiastic werewolf.
They are the novel’s POV characters, and as you can see in the second picture, they have some hidden magics 😊More of Linn’s art can be found:

btw this isn’t a vague/subtweet (post?) or anything but just so y'all know, there’s a way to mark things as “inspired by” on ao3
you don’t have to just put it in the notes!! very cool under-utilized feature
This is an underutilized feature of AO3, and a great way to credit the work you might be taking inspiration from.
It’s also useful because it will link your work on the work it’s inspired by! A little section pops up to say “Works inspired by this one:” and a hyperlink at the bottom of the original fic.*
And then anyone who finds the fic that inspired you will have the option to read your fic too and anyone reading your fic has the chance to go read the fic you loved so much you had to write about it! Everyone wins!
*The author does have to approve that link, it doesn’t just pop up on it’s own, but in my experience as someone who enjoys gifting fic it’s usually well received.
PLEASE use this feature! Its so cool! And it is a great way to drice traffic to both the original and inspired by work since it automatically provides a direct link. You can also connect translations! Which is amazing! This is a super great feature on ao3!

Both ALCHEMIYA books are available as read by the wonderfully talented Jill Smith. They’re both so delightful, seriously. Currently they’re up at www.kateyhawthorneshop.com but they should appear in other places eventually. As always, buying direct gets you a discount 💜
What are these books? Uh, that’s harder. Think historical fantasy with Regency mores and a lot of alchemy, though.
Me: I don’t get it. I thought I was doing a lot better than I was a few years ago. I’m like 10 times more on top of things than I used to be. How does everything feel terrible now?
The Tiny Me in OSHA-approved Hi-Vis Gear Who lives in my brain and pulls all the levers: Boss, it’s the fascism. You’re completely gunked up with cortisol due to the fact that your entire daily life is now underscored with a haunting awareness of the rapid erosion of your rights, dignity, and any and all social safety nets, and you’re also bearing witness to the most vulnerable people immediately being persecuted. This creates a natural stress response that basically means you’re going to continue having memory and organizational problems, as well as emotional imbalances.
Me: BUT I HAVE A BULLET JOURNAL AND I MEDITATE NOW.
Tiny OSHA Me: BOSS, THE FASCISM.

Been hearing this is a problem again.
Don’t be a dick in bookmarks, folks. And yes while I made this image, I’m giving free reign. Take it. Spread it far and wide. Because I’m hearing that some readers don’t know that their bookmarks are visible.

So pleased to introduce y'all to Harper, the sparkly and only vaguely terrifying lead singer of The Rade. Drawn by the amazing @linnpuzzle!
“…someday he’d go on stage in full lingerie. Just not today.
The mortal world wasn’t ready.”
❤️🧚♂️💀😈💘
The Rade Book 1: Rival by Katey Hawthorne
Harper, lead singer of glam rock sensation The Rade, knows his face, his body, and his voice are beautiful—so what if he secretly suspects he’s an unlovable mess? He and his bandmates escaped a tortured existence in Fairyland years ago, and now they use their glamour and style to delight mortals instead of enthralling them. They love what they do, so when another band starts talking trash on their authenticity, Harper has to clap back.
Beck O'Leary, lead singer of hard rock outfit Fireborn, has three platinum albums and the perfect life, and he’s miserable. His bandmates are a joke, his family is held together with emotional duct tape, and his writing is, for the first time in his life, uninspired. He starts trash talking The Rade out of a petty grudge, but then keeps doing it for the thrill he gets from Harper’s livestreamed reactions. And hates himself for both.
When the two front men finally meet, they can’t deny their physical attraction. Sparks fly after a charity football game, but fan gossip takes a dark turn. Between Beck’s disintegrating life and Harper’s secret Fae existence, there’s a lot to handle if they want to hang onto the magic they’ve found in each other. Or maybe two lead singers in one relationship is just too much?
Coming all over the internets from JMS Books October 12, available for pre-order now. 😘
More art commissioned from the amazing @linnpuzzle 💖💖💖
This is Yrsa, the best friend and love interest of the rå/huldra Aster from the previous art commission. Yrsa is a human runewitch, channeling her magic through writing as her focus. Her mother is a skyship merchant and her father is her mentor in magic.
PS. There are runewitches, runemages, songwitches and songmages. Yes, I love making overly complicated social systems and magic systems~
She is so cool and I love the worldbuilding. Thanks for letting me draw her!
I can’t help but start new projects 😆
I’m currently hard at work line-editing A Werewolf in October, and keeping my energy up by dabbling in other projects. This artwork is for my most recent story idea, “Rån som Råder”.
Very long story short, I’m challenging myself to make a second world fantasy setting with solarpunk-flavor that’s mainly based on the Swedish folklore I’ve grown up with. The image here above is of the story’s main character Aster (who is a rå/huldra) together with a crime solving magpie in a fancy hat~There are several hints of events in the story and parts of the world building in the image! For example, the bricks on her jacket are actually her back showing through the jacket, with her name written by a friend in a “cool foreign alphabet” (Aster & her people use runes for writing), plus the long belt is actually a sheath for her tail.
Art commissioned from the amazing Linn Puzzle/ @linnpuzzle (who is also helping with the Norwegian influences on the world building!):
