My package from @maxwellatoms arrived. I recently bought production art from Evil Con Carne from his ebay auction, the often forgotten sister show to Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, i just thought the screaming featherless bird looked rad.
I think I’m going to frame this and put on my wall.

The fact that they kept her available to the public and let her bloom across the world unhindered was such a correct decision it’s crazy. She could have been locked in a corporate cage not allowed to add her voice to anybody’s music, I literally get sad just thinking about it. Thank god for her creator having some foresight

But we refused these offers. Our company is based in Sapporo, you see, and it’s made up of people who are above all attached to the internet. Our idea was that it would be better to let Hatsune Miku spread via the Internet as far as it could go, and then think about CDs, singers on contract, and so forth. In a way, it was easier to refuse the offers, arguing that “Well, we’re based in Hokkaido.”
It may not be quite an “urban legend,” but the Hatsune Miku Vocaloid went on to spread rapidly through the Internet, and for a while everyone was asking “who’s Hatsune Miku?” Some anime fans were mystified, wondering what anime she had appeared in, saying it was mechanical and hard on the ears. There was the “anti-Hatsune Miku” camp, but the pros-and-cons debate helped stir up discussion and word spread. Some figure fans enjoyed the dynamic compositions that could be created with her long hair, and many people learned about her via games, cosplay, and karaoke.
We at Crypton were not necessarily keeping up with everything that was going on and no one really knew the whole picture. But the situation in which there was actually no one person who was the “authority” on Hatsune Miky turned out to be a good thing, at least for users; it was better that there was no one claiming to have all the right answers. Ways of encountering and enjoying Hatsune Miku were as numerous as there were users, and so everyone was doing just that. /End ID]

I support actual artists and writers and scholars, and I support students putting in the effort to learn instead of using the laziest possible route to generate ideas and outlines for them.
Fandom has been taking down those extremely intricate and helpful GameFAQs text guides because they’re a terrible company run by rat bastards, so if you care about archiving those old guides for a smoother experience on the earliest generation of games, i’ve linked prograc’s archive of just about every single one you can think of. make sure to download the whole 7z file (its ~2GB), as this is undoubtedly the most accurate and useful tool for anybody wanting to experience video game history.
those fuckers. I had no idea they started taking things down. the archive can be a bit of a pain to navigate in file explorer because there are SO many files, but at this size it would be worth it to get the zip, unzip, and delete games or systems that might be irrelevant to you in the extracted folders so you can navigate these more easily on your tablet or phone or computer. you can always get the other files back from the full zip, which you definitely should keep somewhere.
