PERSEPHONE MONTENEGRO was irrevocably and inexplicably changed by all those around her. Her feelings had always been extremely maleable, changing, coming and going like the tide, evading her senses before she could catch her breath properly.
A tortured soul like hers was bound to move, at some point, like fire spreading, slowly but surely. It'd spread through her hometown, consume the serenity of the colorful streets of her home, good and bright ipanema, and made its way into her heart, one way or another.
And when it did, the damage would be irrevocable. She could hear her mother's voice now, listing off all the reason's studying in England, far far away from home, is dangerous and stupid. How she would never learn to like it, how she wouldn't meet anyone like her there in a million years. She could see the ever present furrow between the older woman's brows and the disapproving nod of her head before she'd even asked. Hogwarts was not for her.
But the fire was catching, lighting up her eyes and filling her dreams, and her need for change would soon consume her. And then, only then, would her mother cave. This was all her daughter wanted, how could she not?
The school was everything she'd ever dreamed of, but the home she'd always looked for was never the place itself. It came in the form of a group of people lingering inside, and suddenly she couldn't remember how she'd ever been alive without them.
They brought out the poetry in her, the art, a feeling of fun and play she thought only her childhood living room could capture, a loyalty like nothing she'd ever seen...
and a hurt like no other she'd ever endured.
" I love you, it's ruining my life. "
