The tunnel of fairy lights where you and Osamu ran into after sharing vows was your favorite thing about the wedding.
Your dress was simple as Osamu’s suit, you two agreed on a classic and private wedding, more on the private side because after all, it was to celebrate your love with the ones you cared for.
The white satin dress that fell loosely to the floor, no special detail apart from the gorgeous backless style and your husband’s suit, a black blazer with a white button-up along with the black bow tie, and the day flowers on his pocket
“I told you the dry flowers are better.”
“still don’t understand, but if ya like them then I’m wearing them.”
“dry flowers never die… is to symbolize our love.”
He chuckled at the reason behind it, you whined about the flowers for weeks, it’s not like he ever denied your wish but it was good to know the why of it.
“People are waiting outside for us, angel.”
Resting your head on your now-husband chest, you started running your hand up and down his broad back, not wanting to let go of the loving embrace he provided.
“I really loved the fairy lights, it was a good surprise.” you said, avoiding the fact that people were waiting for the groom’s entrance into the big salon. He took your face in one of his hands, tilting your chin upwards in a way you were now looking straight to his eyes.
“What kind of husband would I be if I didn’t grant my wife wishes.” before speaking again, he gave your lips a sweet kiss, a kiss that made you wonder if people would care if you two took a little longer. After exchanging loving gazes for a few more minutes, he took your hand in his and led the way to where the guests were anxiously waiting for the entrance of now husband and wife
“Let’s make this night memorable”
—
The dinner was exquisite, to say at least.
In your brother-in-law’s opinion, the wine was the best he had in a good while.
The plates were carefully positioned with the white soft napkins neatly folded on top of them, it really made your heartache once the food was served and you had to break the beautiful hard work
you were now greeting all the guests’ table by table once everyone finished the fancy dishes, taking pictures with every table in the room too.
“ ‘samu, can you believe all these people are here—” you took a look around the place, still not believing all this was for you “—like, they are here for us”
He wrapped an arm around your waist, pecking your cheeks and snuggling his nose into your face “Baby, with how pretty ya are a think they are here for ya.” and he wasn’t lying when he spoke his thoughts out, it was hard to see you walk down the aisle and not take you all for himself.
A voice from the back made both of you turn around, it was the wedding planner, holding the folder with the schedule onto her chest.
“Sorry to interrupt the moment, but it’s time for the first dance.”
Osamu extended his hand “Would you give this dance, dear wife?” you smiled and took his hand, interviewing fingers that were now adorned with the same ring, effortlessly falling into his embrace and onto the dance floor.
The incessant butterflies came to your stomach at the soft moment, six years of waiting were worth it, your silver jewelry was shining under the now low lights, while appreciating all the little details of your day, Osamu was too busy staring at your eyes, those same eyes that were full of sorrow and pain now full of joy and pride.
“They are pretty, aren’t they?” It was Atsumu’s voice that made Suna snap out of the romantic scene in front of him.
“They are,” the brunette answered, trying not to think of his first dance with his own wife, they got married out of an impulse after finding out she was pregnant three years into their relationship, it was just both of them on the register signing the papers and the well-know “first dance” was on the rather small kitchen of their apartment with a box of pizza takeout on the coffee table of their living room “I want ume with me right now”.
And his last statement wasn’t a lie, his daughter was the closest thing he had to Kaede and the light of his life, it was hard to let go of her even if it was for a short night, but he couldn’t deny his best friend nor the person he hurt the most in his life.
“Wheres little ume now?”
“Kaede’s parents.”
Atsumu hummed at his response and took a sip of his tasty red wine “Did ya ever apologize ta her?”
A tear was already slipping Suna’s eyes, he never got to apologize, never go to see you nor feel you again “I was hoping I could today, even Kaede apologized to me for treating her wrong and I still didn’t.”
While the two high school friends exchanged words the dance continued, your arms were wrapped around Osamu’s neck while you giggled at his comments that unknown to everyone, they were about dancing this exact same song in a not so far at the kitchen of your house, own flesh and blood running around or swaying along with both of you.
“Y/N isn’t holding any bridges against ya, don’t be scared ta do it.” with that, the older twin placed his cup of wine on the nearest counter, off to the dance floor to have his own slow dance with you.
“Take your brother-in-law hands for this dance, my dear now sister”
The party was now out of control.
it shocked you to see your husband taking body-shots from Bokuto’s toned chest, no surprise neither of them had any type of shirt on but fluorescent ties and crazy hats.
“Should we join?” Akaashi asked, Tsukkishima furiously shaking his head from left to right “you can never know what has been on his chest, wouldn’t risk my life to find it out”
“well, I don’t really care Kei, I’m off.” and he did go towards the group of friends, loosening his tie and unbuttoning the first three buttons of his white shirt “I swear, I’m gonna regret this Akashi.” the blonde stated, following behind the blue-eyed man.
Apart from that everything was going smoothly, your back and feet were hurting so you were going to the private room for a while, until you saw Suna in one of the champagne cushions looking at the ceiling, deep in thought.
“Is everything okay?” those were the first words you exchanged after six long years, six years after one of his worst decisions in life, don get him wrong, he is very in love with his now-dead wife and daughter, but he wishes he could go back in time and make things better.
“I’m sorry” was the first thing you said when he directed his gaze towards you. “What do you mean sorry?” he asked with a confused tone because if his mind wasn’t playing things with him, he was the one to fuck everything up
“I’m sorry for not being there to help with um- ume’s birth and-”
“Stop right there,” he told you dead serious, knowing full well what you were talking about.
“I’m-” he started, trying hard not the let emotions get the best of himself “I’m the one who is sorry, I shouldn’t do that to you and, fuck, I wish I could go back in time and do things better, I’m sorry I played with you and your feelings, I’m sorry I never got the balls to talk you again before this, I’m sorry for being an asshole because believe it or not-” he took a deep breath before continuing “I did appreciate you, no, screw that, I appreciate you, you are so sweet, kind and caring and all I did was to fuck around like some kind of teenage boy. I really don’t know what to do apart from saying sorry, I actually think is too late for me to do this and that our lives are in very different ways by now for this apology to mean something.”
You smiled at his sincere apology, lifting up your white statin dress to sit beside him “Thank you, I appreciate that, Suna.” and you did appreciate it, is true that you didn’t hold anything against him but the relief on your heart after knowing how he feels about his actions was undeniable “Even if it hurt, know I have the life I always dreamt about, so in so part, I should thank you for giving me this opportunity but um…” you hesitated to ask the next few things, knowing they could bring up memories neither of you enjoyed “…Did you ever feel something for me? and… what happened with Kaede?”
“I don’t want to sound bad but… never understood my feelings for you after high school… the possessiveness was because I was alose to lose you again, but I never saw a potential relationship between us, I enjoyed the feeling of having someone to go out and have fun with without caring about deeper feelings and as for Kaede… damn is hard to talk about her.”
He took a long sip of his water, knowing he had to pick up Umeko from his grandparents and drive home again “I did love her, he made me feel like someone who deserved things in life, made me feel so loved and cared about, I remember one day, she was with all the big belly and pregnancy stuff… she came to apologize to me for treating you wrong, literally three years later”
you quirked a brow since you never had any type of interactions with the said lady “Why?”
“When we got in touch again I maybe told her I didn’t hear about you since you moved out” he received a good and hard but playful slap on his shoulder “I know, sorry.” he chuckled
“And we had a good talk that morning, I told her I was actually in touch with you and god she got so mad at me for lying, the pregnancy hormones didn’t help a little bit… she made me go out and buy her ice cream to accept my apology. She wanted me to apologize to you, face to face and I clearly didn’t so… I hope she is hearing this right now. And for Ume, that bay is the light of my life, she is so bubbly and makes everything look so adorable, it has her hair too, look,” he proudly showed you a photo of the baby with long black hair and green orbs as his father “we weren’t trying for a child it came out of the blue, we had a quick wedding and that’s it. I’m glad I could marry her before her death because I wouldn’t forgive myself if I didn’t.”
The way he talked about his family made you think about your own, placing a hand over your belly and imagine how of a wonderful parent Osamu would be and how devasted would you feel if you went in the same situation as Suna did.
“Well, Suna, thanks to that you have now your daughter and wife, I have my husband and couldn’t be happier. Is there really something to regret in that?”
“There’s no much to regret aside from my actions and decisions, I’m cheering for you and Osamu, I know he is a good man”
Speaking of Rome, Osamu came towards the both of you on a tipsy state
“Sorry for the disturb but… we need to cut the cake before things get um, wilder ya could say”
you got up, smiling at your husband and grabbing one of his hands in both of yours, and going to the main table
“We should make sure to catch up sometime, Suna.”
“Everyone! a wanna say something before this ‘cut the cake’ ritual” Osamu practically screamed, gaining everyone’s attention.
“a think everyone in this room, except for ma own wife, knows a been head over heels for her since the young age of sixteen,” The guests were laughing at him, knowing his heart was clearly beating for you since high school, not everyone deserves a home-made bento every single day “and a can finally say a made her mine, after fourteen years, her last name is finally Miya.” you were hiding your face on his chest out of embarrassment, at the same time laughing at Atsumu’s screams of being the matchmaker “Even if a met her again at one of her lowest points, a couldn’t be more grateful about it nor a could be more proud ta now call her my wife. With that being said, a hope everyone enjoys the rest of the night!”
“'samu.” you whispered in his ear only for him to say, it wasn’t like anyone could hear thanks to the large and loud number of congratulations.
“What, Mrs. Miya?”
“Thank you.”
You should thank Atsumu for the five stars hotel he rented for the night as your wedding gift.
“Did ya drank the champagne after the cake?”
you scoffed at him, taking out your dress, being left on with only the white lingerie
“Do you want me to kill our child or something? it was apple juice”
he laughed, wrapping an ar around your waist and dragging you to the edge of the bed “a really wanted to take you right there and then, angel.” It’s not like you weren’t too, the part was lovely but your body was craving him. The hot trail of kisses on your neck made you move back and forth on his muscular leg
“l-love you, 'samu” he laughed and you could feel your vibrations all over your body
“love ya too baby, now, let me take care of you”
