i've been in the marvel fandom in and out for over a decade. never has this space welcomed black fans. we're told to be quiet and that its just comics and not that deep. but the Isaiah Bradley storyline in the movie? it IS that deep because the USA has done a number of horrors to black people in the military even after they served their country. imagine going to fight a war and to only be locked up when back at home in the good ol usa. that's american history.
i know people were super against the movie because of the free palestine movement and i thought about it. and then i remembered all the hate black people are given and have been given in the marvel fandom period and how it's all empty gestures with boycott this and that, until usually a movie with a black lead comes out.
most americans wouldn't even vote for kamala harris, a half black woman for president over this fucker trump, and you want to stan tony stark online and tell my black ass to miss out on sam wilson, a character deeply disrespected and hated by his own fandom, to boycott his first time to get the starring role?

It’s amazing how a company can fuck up a franchise that has given them the most accolades within the mcu. We all know why that is but it still sucks.

Can’t wait for companies to stop announcing every idea they come up with and then “cancel” ones they never started working on. There definitely needs to be outrage about this - even if it works and Disney decides to work on an Okoye project again, there’s a very good chance it would be a movie rather than a series.

I have a very cheesy yet extremely sad headcanon: trip, in heaven, takes care of hope. hope always asks him about her daddy and he goes on, telling the stories that Mack and the team shared together. hope watches over Mack, and definitely approves of Elena. I’m sorry just needed unrealistically cheesy shit to get me out of my damn feels.

Captain America Brave New World ✅ 4/5. Messy at times, but fun as hell. The negative reviews are overblown. Trailers were misleading though, clearly Winter Soldier inspired, but never got quite as dark or serious as that. My theater shared a ton of laughs. Anthony Mackie and Danny Garcia are so good together and Harrison Ford did a great job as Ross.
Sets up the X-Men in the MCU and feels like the start of a new era for marvel. I enjoyed this a lot even with the plot being underwhelming at times.
