what about you? do you have a character "type" you get extra brain worms about?
ohhh there are lots of traits i find myself drawn to in characters. interesting dynamics with siblings, intentions that get warped by dogmatic conviction, egotistical but not self-centered, egotistical and self-centered but funny about it, hypercompetent in one area while being hopelessly dorky in another.
currently i’m rereading the first book of the divide series bc i’m doing an annotation rotation with some friends and i am having all sorts of brain worms about cavalon augustus mercer the second. he’s a rich kid. he’s a terrorist. he’s an addict. he collects college degrees. he cannot make a good first impression to save his life. he doesn’t do well with authority yet he’s eager to be adequin’s dog. he builds a literal star because she asks him to. he will not shut up. he’s even asexual. completely insufferable. exactly my type. it makes me happy every time he’s on the page.
Recently, my sister finished the last of a set of Stardew Valley Cross Stitch for me. Today the frame I had made for it was finished and I wanted to share it with everyone!
‘don’t you want your favourite character to be happy???’ no? i want my favourite character to be interesting. i want me to be happy. which sometimes involves my favourite character being in exquisite agony
