Requests for usurpation or deleting global accounts
SUL - Nudimmud
- w:de:Nudimmud – contribs – log – CentralAuth – usurp
Hello, this is not really a big problem, but I would like to set my home wiki of unified log-in to English Wikipedia, which is currently set to the German Wikipedia. When I was first unifying my acounts, I paid no attention to the term home wiki, and accidentally merged accounts at German Wiki, which I rarely use, automatically setting there as home. This is pain in the neck for changing account password, setting preferences, &c. and really annoying me. English Wiki is where I mainly participate in, and I would like to set there as my home wiki. With best regards. (p.s. If this is not proper place to place my request, please tell me where to go.) --Nudimmud 16:54, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
- Hello Nudimmud, we can't change the homewiki, and right now it is possible to change the password and other settings from other wikis too, there are no global settings yet. See also bugzilla:14234.
- The only way You could achieve that would be to delete the global account and merge from en.wiki (to make sure nothing unexpected happens I would recommend to change the password there before merging and then make it a global account on en.wiki only and then attach the others to it). If You wish Your global account to be deleted, please make sure to have a valid confirmed e-mail in the preferences and confirm here that You really want that. Afterwards You can remerge it at en:special:mergeaccount.
- Note that You have 2 unattached accounts on en.wikt and simple.wiki.
- Best regards, --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 19:39, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for the information! I just assumed that I was having a problem in SUL, because I failed to change my password in English wiki some time ago. Maybe I did something wrong at that time, for I just tried again right ago, and this time, everything worked fine.
- BTW, I still want to change my homewiki, for esthetic and mental cause, it would make me feel better to have enwiki for my home. If that can be achieved by deleting and recreating global account, I would certainly choose that way. So, please delete my global account.
- Thanks again. --Nudimmud 06:40, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
- deleted, to remerge please go to en:special:mergeaccount and follow the instructions there, remember the hint I gave You above, best regards, --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 07:54, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
- Many thanks! --Nudimmud 08:29, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
- Welcome :) P.S. If You wish to solve the two conflict accounts on en.wikt and simple.wiki, that should be possible, since they have no contributions, You can make an usurp request at the local requestsites, links to them see the interwikilinks here on the left, best regards, --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 08:44, 5 May 2009 (UTC)

I want to Delete my global account (not my home account) for personal reasons i not speaking enough other langeages to us a global account. Wikiice 18:00, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
- Hello, we don't delete global accounts for such reasonings, all new accounts are global now, and we will not destroy the work of the developers and unglobalize them again. Only for problem solving, but if You don't want to visit another wiki, please just don't visit it, Your account won't be damaged from visiting another wiki. Best regards, --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 18:16, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
SUL AUM/Aum
Hello, I have changed my local account names on cz.wiki and en.wiki to AUM, but my global account is still Aum. Is it possible to usurp an apparently inactive global AUM account and change my global account name from Aum to AUM then? Thanks. --Aum 21:19, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
- Hello, that got already answered here, best regards, --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 21:23, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
I tried it but I was directed to Meta from there again: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Changing_username/SUL/Completed/7#Aum.en_.E2.86.92_AUM. Could you please give me more specific advice. Thanks--Aum 21:58, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
- Hello, this is confusing, You already own the account "AUM" there, why do You not merge it to Your global account "AUM"? For doing so, please go to en:special:mergeaccount, and the cs.wiki one: cs:special:mergeaccount, best regards, --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 22:06, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
My global account is Aum not AUM. In http://toolserver.org/~vvv/sulutil.php?user=AUM only line 1 and 3 are mine. --Aum 22:15, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
- If You don't own the global account "AUM" You would have had no right to usurp the local accounts, IMHO these renames were an error of the local bureaucrats and should be reverted asap. Best regards, --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 22:18, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
Is it possible to usurp the global account?--Aum 23:22, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
- This is not ours to decide, IMHO You should have asked on the wikis where he has accounts first, but generally I'd say no, first come first served. I don't understand why You don't search for a name that has not yet been taken.
- Best regards, --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 05:43, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

I want to usurp the following accounts

--Poppy 21:00, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
- Hello, zh.wikibooks has local bureaucrats, please ask for renames there (interwikilinks to the requestpages can be found on this page, or type
special:listusers/bureaucrat
into the searchfield on the local wiki), thanks. Please note that usurping might not be possible on some projects if the accounts have edits, best regards, --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 00:09, 10 May 2009 (UTC)

American Eagle (temp)
- :m:American Eagle (temp) – contribs – log – CentralAuth – usurp
I want for the SUL of User:American Eagle (temp) to be stopped at SP:CA (I believe). I'm not sure how this would be done, though. It keeps creating new accounts when I'm trying to stop it. Thanks. American Eagle (talk) (owner) 20:06, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
- What exactly are you requesting? --Thogo (talk) 20:09, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
- I read at Help:Unified login#Conflict resolution this: "Stewards can view global username data and manually merge or unmerge accounts using Special:CentralAuth." I was hoping somehow all the accounts could be "unmerged" and removed from SUL, so I can work about getting them renamed (more accounts keep being creating as I try to request their rename). Can something like this ("unmerging" all the accounts) be done? Thanks. American Eagle (talk) 02:19, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
- Hello American Eagle, to be honest, I don't understand the problem either, if it keeps creating accounts that should be no problem for You (I doubt You wish to be renamed to "American Eagle (temp)", which would be a bit annoying then for bureaucrats, but still not a major issue), however, if You still think it is a problem for You, You are trusted enough and a sul deletion of "American Eagle (sul)" would be no problem if You find that useful (or unmerging all accounts, but this would not prevent from creation of new accounts on other wikis). Best regards, --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 21:46, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
- Well, I still am not sure what to do. I most certainly don't want to be renamed to "American Eagle (temp)"! Alright, I'll try to explain this simply. I created "American Eagle (temp)" on a project because I wanted to usurp another account with it. But then I (accidentally) visited other WMF wikis while logged to it, and it created accounts on those wikis, and has created a SUL. I have been trying to rename all accounts with the username "American Eagle (temp)" to "AEBot" (which I use on/off), so I don't have to create yet another account. While I have been doing this, the SUL keeps creating new accounts when I'm trying to get rid of them. What I am requesting is this: somehow, the SUL be unmerged, or deleted, or something, so it will stop creating more accounts. Is this possible, Spacebirdy or Thogo? American Eagle (talk) 19:18, 23 May 2009 (UTC)
- Ok, I have deleted the global account "American Eagle (temp)" although I do not understand the problem fully (I don't see a problem if some "American Eagle (temp)" remain locally on some wikis), but You are trusted and if it helps You, good.
- Best regards, --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 20:19, 23 May 2009 (UTC)
- Thank You very much! =) American Eagle (talk) 22:08, 24 May 2009 (UTC)

Semper discens
Hello, I'd like to usurp the following account, if possible:
- wikimedia:meta:Semper discens – contribs – log – CentralAuth – usurp
--Semper discipulus 23:26, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
- Hello 1. please do a request on Meta:Changing username, because meta has local bureaucrats, 2. there is no local account for 'Semper discens' on Meta, 3. You would need to provide that You are the owner of the global account 'Semper discens' if You wish to be renamed to that name, because it is an existing global account (most edits: en.wiki, only unattached account: commons).

Shaul
Hello, I'd like to usurp the following account, if possible:
- q:he:Shaul – contribs – log – CentralAuth – usurp
Shaul is my global account in all the wikis (see uk:User:Shaul) and, as I can see Shaul on hewikiquote is inactive from year 2006, so I would like to usurp Shaul there.

Rigaudon
- w:de:Rigaudon – contribs – log – CentralAuth – usurp
I was User:Tempo rubabo on English Wikipedia and asked to be changed to User:Rigaudon. Within hours of my request, somebody registered the account Rigaudon on the German Wikipedia,[1] as well as several other names which had been requested at the English Wikipedia Changing Username page.[2] [3][4] This person then automatically got those accounts on English Wikipedia, and used them for abusive e-mails. The stolen account Rigaudon was indefinitely blocked, and renamed to User:UsurpedName03.[5] I was then renamed from Tempo rubato to Rigaudon, as requested. When I tried to create the account Rigaudon at Wiktionary the next day, I couldn't. I contacted a bureaucrat on German Wikipedia, and he renamed Benutzer:Rigaudon to Benutzer:Zwangsumbenennung795. I thought this would leave me free to take it. But I still could not create it. Although I am now the only Rigaudon on any project, my account is treated as "unattached" to the main account, and I am asked for the password to the global account. I have tried using my English Wikipedia password, but it doesn't work. What do I do now? Thank you. Wannaberigaudon 16:40, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
P.S. for confirmation that I am Rigaudon on English Wikipedia, please see here. Wannaberigaudon 16:45, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
- As a bureaucrat and checkuser on EnWiki, I can confirm that the former EnWiki (and current global) Rigaudon was a vandal and that the CURRENT EnWiki Rigaudon should be the global version. -- Avi 16:58, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
- Hello, the sul still belonged to the vandal/impostor, I deleted the global account for You, to make it global again, please go to en:special:mergeaccount while logged to en:User:Rigaudon, since You have most edits, no one else will be able to make it a global one again, best regards, --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 19:09, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
- Great. Thank you so much - it works! Rigaudon 19:24, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
