I see people being shocked (and envious) about every Wednesday being half days in the reblogs but, in my experience (France) our schedule for every other day was on average much longer than it is in other countries.

French highschooler frequently have school days which last from 8 AM to 6 PM.

Yyyeah, depends what level you are in France. In elementary school there’s no school on Wednesday, it starts in middle school with only the morning

Highschool depends if you have a shitty time schedule or not

And in university, let’s say it depends on what you do and where you are. In classe preparatoire usually the Wednesday afternoon is for exams, so we do 8am to 7 pm, and in fact it’s like

You could have a lesson at 8 am and another one at 8 pm and it would be the norm

I failed miserably :(

from my sources adjacent to tumblr--from which i can spread rumors and insider information freely because i dont give a fuck about ever working in the tech sector--im hearing this round of firings was focused on purging the senior staff, and not just from support but from the entire remaining tumblr workforce. i'm hearing there are about 25 people left.

While I don't think that Tumblr is about to shut down anytime soon, as a fandom old who lost my community and my people when the fandom diaspora happened from LiveJournal, I want to urge that you do something NOW:

• Get your backup account(s) elsewhere NOW
• Let your moots know your username(s) at those places NOW
• Follow your moots at their places NOW

I mean this with all my heart. Get this done now. Get set up and find your people now. Tumblr is the home of fandom now, just as LiveJournal was the home of fandom way back. And you could end up losing your fandom home just as easily and quickly as us old LJ people did way back then.

It's a horrible feeling, and most old LJ users still mourn the loss of it to this day.

If Tumblr goes down the chances of me completely stopping social media is like, 90%. I like the mood here, not a particular fandom. It's the mix of gays and leftists and crazy people and the overabundance of text based posts and degenerate memes.

I didn't really connect with anyone in any other plateform.

But I guess I should. I made bluesky account, same name, and I'll jump there eventually. Maybe I should start double posting. But honestly it's really because it's Tumblr that I even bother.

But my main account will be and will stay Tumblr! I just like it there and I don’t know if I can manage two accounts at a time (I’m busy I guess)
