a bodega is sort of like a deli. that is it is a small indoor establishment and usually there are things to buy like junk food and snacks. sometimes theres a sandwich counter thing where theyll make you a sandwich. they tend to be pretty small stores in certain parts of new york mainly manhattan but in brooklyn ive found they get pretty big too. hope that helps you
anon i think i failed to mention that they arent entirely junk food, in fact they have fruits and sometimes even veggies. the ones i see are so small that they usually pack the unhealthy items more humorously. but they can have healthy snacks too.
