about me
Hi! I’m starting this blog so I can track and share my writing progress. I’m looking to meet other writers and become more a part of the writing community.
I’m 24 and a teacher so summer is the best time for me to really write all day.
Outside of reading novels, I love watching movies and reading comics.
My favorite book of all time is A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini and as of 6/17/23, I am currently reading A Game of Thrones by George RR Martin.
about my writing
I have always enjoyed writing, even as a child. Now, I just feel like I want to do more. Growing up, I didn’t have a lot of stories about people like me so my goal is to create engaging and memorable stories with well-written black and poc, LGBTQ/queer, and female characters.
Some of my favorite tropes are rivals/enemies to lovers, antihero protagonists, quests and prophecies, and the Amazon Brigade.
Right now, I am working on a fantasy novel. I’ve written one before, but things just didn’t work out the way I wanted, so this is my fresh start. I’m about 54k words into this novel and my goal is 80-90k.
Update Jan 22, 2025: I am on my second draft of WotG (TLBH). 78k/110k of the way through. Most of my posts will be about this second draft.
Like I said, I’m open to talking with and meeting new people. I’m down to beta your WIPs and share ideas and tips. Thanks for reading!
reblog with a spoiler for your wip with zero context. no context allowed.
Man I love how cool and strong that character is. Would love to see them screaming and crying in agony and or fear.
remember when you’re writing a gross and terrible power dynamic that you should be asking yourself constantly how you could make it worse and sexier
people will be like “don’t worry it’s all in your head!” like babe… yes… that’s the problem… how do i get it out of there…
revising your writing is just like "is this weird. is this a weird sentence. is this the weirdest most poorly-worded sentence ever written by anyone" and the sentence in question is "he walked across the room"
want to write but some unidentifiable force (me) is making it really hard (I'm procrastinating)
FUN FACT: the line between homicidally violent behavior and the line between outrageously homosexual behavior CAN be blurred at will!
what if they fell in love (bad)
i wish i was a cishet guy so that i could start a podcast and go to the gym and allow that to fulfill me spiritually. but instead i have these visions

Yara had never believed the old myths that her mother had told her about Noroi. The mysterious demonic creatures that dwelled in the shadows and abandoned areas, wreaking death and decay to every place they touched.
Leeches, she had called them.
Yara had always dismissed the myths as nothing but fairy tales, little ghost stories created to scare her and keep her from running out too far at night. But, on the night of her 12th birthday, when her home is invaded and she finds herself face-to-face with the father of all Noroi, she sees her mother’s stories for what they really were: warnings.
From that night on, her entire reality is shattered. Left with an empty house, her only companion being a raven that can’t seem to leave her alone, Yara is stuck. She can’t make herself leave her childhood house, the only home she only knows. With a magical barrier to protect her from the Noroi always prowling outside her house, she spends her days inside, the only place that is safe now.
But as the years wear on and the barrier slowly grows weaker, Yara knows it’s only a matter of time before they finish her off. Just like they had done to her family. She’s suddenly faced with a choice: Stay and wait for the barrier to fail, or venture out into the unknown, despite the danger.

if you use kindle for the majority of your library, they will be shutting down the function that allows you to download your files and transfer them via USB on the 26th of February. Which doesn't sound like a huge deal, but this also means that if a book is taken off Amazon for any reason—like it being banned—they can scrape it off your kindle as well. So maybe backup your library?
