When he’s seven, Nace gets in a fight with a few older kids while he’s playing in the woods behind his house. They’ve found some small frogs by a tiny pond and he overhears them talking. The older sister of one of the boys had to dissect frogs at school during her biology lesson and the kids are planning on killing the frogs by the pond to try dissecting them.
Nace, usually rather shy and selective in who he approaches, goes up to them and tells them off.
The other boys are so surprised, they simply argue with him for a bit, before disappearing into the woods.
Nace is shaken up from the whole ordeal. He takes his little bike and goes home to tell his mother about the other boys, confused how someone could be as cruel as to kill animals just because they want to play.
His mother praises him for intervening and tries calming him down, but he’s too agitated to play or draw like he usually does. So, his mum takes him with her into the kitchen, and shows him how to make marble cake. Nace calms down.
It becomes a habit from then on. Whenever he is upset, he bakes with his mom.

To put it simply, in this fic, Bojan (willingly) and Kris (unwillingly) go on a little adventure to an uninhabited island, Kris deals with some *feelings*, Bojan goes exploring, they find a dead rabbit, KRIS GETS IMPALED, and yeah…you know…chill vacation vibes.
suddenly thought about that kris discord q&a and how he said his favourite part about being in a band is “going on stage. but not alone” which is just one of the many examples of his ability to say (or often blurt out of nowhere suddenly when you least expect it) the sweetest and sometimes most heart wrenching things in this casual, blunt matter of fact kinda way that somehow just makes it all hit my feelings even harder
