Happy birthday Gene Kelly!
The music video for Gene Kelly is on the Telly was directed by Laima Bite from Famous Banana Pictures. She shot me in front of a green screen, then used the Kuleshov Effect to make it look like I want to shoot Gene Kelly. (I really don’t, I swear. I just have Resting Sinister Face.)
The song is also included with the pre-order of my new album Star Stuff, which comes out on September 2nd.
My new album Star Stuff has been out for a week and a day. So far I’ve been delighted with the response. I made it in isolation, so it was impossible to guess what people would make of it, but they seem to be connecting with the songs in wonderful ways. It’s really heartening to hear such lovely feedback.
Have you heard it yet? I’d love to know what you think of it. ✨

Reblog to head butt prev (affectionately of course).
My latest BookTube video is actually an excerpt from a longer one, my forthcoming February wrap-up. It’s a review of The Farthest Shore, the third book from Ursula K. Le Guin’s Earthsea series. It’s a great book, and I was so pleased with how the review came out I decided to share it individually as well.
(Also introducing a new style of thumbnail design!)I’m just about to finish my first read through of the Earthsea books, and I also would have said The Farthest Shore was my least favorite, but hearing your reflections reminds me how great it was, and now I also don’t have a least favorite
Thanks so much, this is such lovely feedback!
