First let me say, and I can't believe I am saying this because of the serious painintheassness involved (and yes that is a word, now anyway) …I am sooooo glad that the designer who picked this piece wanted to do a super high gloss, modern finish in a fun color! That gorgeous gold hardware didn't hurt at all either. You'll never guess what I used to transform this Thomasville Allegro faux bamboo dresser from outdated to high gloss gorgeous! Classic faux bamboo high gloss lacquered furniture is always a winner!

Katie Scott | Furniture Refinisher on Instagram: "This massive vintage dresser came from an old hotel, and it was in rough shape—drilled holes, chipped laminate, and all! But I knew I could transform it into a stunning, high-end piece with some DIY magic.✨

First, I cleaned it up, filled the holes, and smoothed out the dings. After scuffing and priming, I applied two coats of @behrpaint Cabinet Enamel in Black Bamboo—the perfect olive shade! I also used paintable caulking to hide unsightly seams.

The hardware got a fresh look with gold spray paint, and I added peel-and-stick wallpaper to the drawers for a fun surprise inside!

I’m obsessed with how this discarded dresser turned into a stylish showstopper. What do you think of this upcycled furniture makeover?
