Such stores led to the creation of video rental chains such as Blockbuster & Rogers Video in the 1980s. Because of poor strategic planning & mismanagement, Blockbuster filed for bankruptcy in September 2010, signalling the end of the act of going to the video store to rent a movie on a Friday night.
