These days, it is one, long, 18-mile continuous stretch of stores, malls, offices, restaurants, gas stations, supermarkets. According to Wikipedia, it is the longest of its type in the world—and I don’t doubt it. I don’t have a date on this photo but to see Ventura Boulevard (in the Woodland Hills stretch) THIS empty is pretty staggering.
