The Kessoku Bando ZEPP TOUR 2024 "We will" announced a second season for the Bocchi the Rock! television anime on Saturday. The official website also revealed the main staff, a teaser illustration (pictured) by the new character designer Keito Oda, and a teaser promo.

Yuusuke Yamamoto (Bocchi the Rock! assistant director) is helming the second season at CloverWorks, replacing Keiichirou Saitou (Sousou no Frieren).

Erika Yoshida (Kami no Tou) is returning as the scriptwriter. Keito Oda (Koisuru Asteroid main animator) is joining Kerorira as character designer.

The first season aired in 12 episodes in Fall 2022. Crunchyroll simulcast the anime with subtitles. A two-part compilation movie premiered in Japan in June and August last year.

Bocchi the Rock! adapts Aki Hamaji's 4-koma music comedy manga, which began serializing in Manga Time Kirara MAX in December 2017. Houbunsha shipped the seventh volume on October 25. Bocchi the Rock! has a cumulative 3 million copies of its volumes in print, including the anthology.

Yen Press licensed the manga in English in April 2023. The fifth volume went on sale last November, with the sixth volume planned for a February 18 release.

what bocchi 2? Where, I listened to the radio show which was published with the release (https://youtu.be/P0ifdqZm8wo?si=96xBI_xy5Z-4dOXk) where the new director said they haven't done a thing and that animation takes a long time, I highly doubt this airs in 2025

Edit: did you miss-quote me? are you talking about dress-up darling?

K-ON style moe show
that's just a ridiculously basic and off the mark take on the show

Nice, first season was really funny, hope this one delivers as well.

Typical K-ON style boring-moe show, but it got overrated to death because of the herd mentality of the this new weird generation. These people give scores according to instructions of YouTube nerds. So, it's not surprising to see that it has this high of a score. It is only about hype now. Back in 10-15 years ago people would be ecstatic about the batch release of the shows like JoJo part 6 because they can binge watch it, but nowadays these weirdos grieve over it because they can't talk about it weekly on twitter. Anime or other mediums are just reduced to a mere tool for their weird TikTok videos and pseudo friendships.

I'm not surprised it took so long cloverworks is booked up and aniplex production lines have been messed up for the next decade at least

@Softhenic03 Yeah no. The new director said they haven't done anything yet, no arrangements no animation, nothing. He also explicitly said making anime takes a long time. We won't see this before 2026, maybe even Summer/Fall 2026.

Am I the only one who kind of has lost interest in this series? I enjoyed the first season but having a 3 year break on a quite good enjoyable series before new season announcement, it kind of makes one lose interest. It'll probably be a year or two until this season start. I might watch this, who knows.

If they stopped at just the recap movies, that would’ve been a serious loss, so I’m glad they finally back!

Those recap films were worth it.

For fuck sake Sony better make a dub of the first season now.

Sweet! Can't Wait! Here's hoping we get an English dub too!! 🤞🏼 🤞🏼
