'Shuumatsu no Walküre' Gets Third Season

Production company Warner Bros. Japan announced a third season for the Shuumatsu no Walküre (Record of Ragnarok) anime series on Friday, revealing the main staff, a teaser visual (pictured), and teaser promo. The third season will stream exclusively on Netflix.

The first season, produced by Graphinica, debuted worldwide on Netflix in 12 episodes in June 2021. The 15-episode second season, co-produced by Graphinica and Yumeta Company, streamed on Netflix in two parts in January and July 2023.

Shuumatsu no Walküre adapts Shinya Umemura, Takumi Fukui, and illustrator Ajichika's dark fantasy battle action manga, which began in Monthly Comic Zenon in November 2017. Coamix published the 23rd volume in November 2024, with the 24th volume set for a March 19 release. The manga has a cumulative 18 million copies of its volumes in print.

VIZ Media licensed the manga in English in June 2021 and released the 13th volume on January 21. The 14th volume is planned for an April 15 release. The company also licensed the first anime season in North America and released it on home video in April 2023.

Should I watch the previous seasons? The franchise is quite popular, but I have heard some criticism about the quality of the animation.

But in the spin off prequel manga Apocalypse of the gods there is one known female fighter, that series is still super early tho, so we haven't seen much

I hope they animate the next 2-3 rounds too, there is enough content to cover atm

But in the spin off prequel manga Apocalypse of the gods there is one known female fighter, that series is still super early tho, so we haven't seen much
