Why are you so quiet these days? I hope you are doing well and just probably with working organising cherry blossom viewing events.

I don't have a problem with anti-piracy but it shouldn't block legal access. The movies are on Crunchyroll but even if you pay for the service the movies are still blocked. I could get a VPN but paying for a third party service to use a legal service you already pay for is kind of ridiculous. If I'm willing and able to buy things I feel it should be available.

So you have many reasons to like Lina but can't explain with words, I understand now sorry for finding it strange. I don't exactly excel at socializing to understand certain things.

You didn't seem to feel good after reading quite a few things I've said, can't exactly predict how you'll feel about them.

Nice you have the book, hope you find a good mystery novel to read in the meantime. The last Conan movie I watched was the one featuring Lupin, almost all of those movies are region locked unfortunately.

By the way if you ever lose interest in talking just let me know, I'll be here to talk about Slayers anytime.

Despite our big difference in age, I think manga will give us a lot to talk about.

How many years have you read manga? I started reading since I created my MAL account (last year.)

Manga has inspired me to write something, I like that the stories go past their entertainment purpose and voice the author's comment or opinion on something. Whether it's a comment on society or just an exploration of the human condition for example. Kiseijuu had a nice message on the preservation of nature and our Earth, Goodnight Punpun worked really well in terms of diving into human dread and tragedy.

I really like manga, I will read so much more...

thank you!

I did not buy the DVD, I bought every volume of the City Hunter manga in physical form. I completely forgot about the Angel Dust blue disk.

Wow! Those are really nice. I love the stickers, you would use whatever you had back then. I doubt any of my old TV recordings still exist unfortunately. I know that some people archive a lot of those online. It's definitely nostalgic. While I can't speak for the Japanese context, in North America it seems like commercials were much more creative in the 90s and early 2000s than now, but that might just be my own nostalgia talking.

Awesome! Thank you for the heads up. Also, wow I'm surprised only four people showed up to the movie! I thought rose of versailles was pretty popular, but maybe some of the younger people don’t know about it since it’s an older series. Anyways, once its available in english and I get a chance to check it out, I’ll let you know what I think!

I think Lina is a good role model, aside from all of the collateral damage she'll do the right thing in the end. Most of the time. Though I find it strange you don't have a particular reason to like her.

I don't know if the special will make a translated appearance in this region, but that's good it has a e-book version since you said looks as if they maybe sold out of the books. I hope you'll enjoy the special when you read it.

Been getting the Slayers manga, I think I see why you don't care for the manga art since its not Rui Araizumi. But I like Shabranigdo's manga design best, although it kind of looks like an Akira Toriyama style skeleton.

Salutations, japon reader! Your completed manga count is impressive, let’s be friendo.

Its been a little while since we last spoke hope things are doing good.

I asked what made Conan and Xellos some of your favorite characters, but I missed the one and only Lina Inverse. What makes Lina Inverse one of your favorites?

I was in japan for about 12 days total I think. Studio ALTA actually just closed down 6 days ago. You might know it as Alta-mae.

For the whole trip, with the exception of very long distances (we took trains and shinkansen) and a ride in a taxi back to the hotel at the end of the day, we walked the entire time. No bicycles or skates. Part of the reason I think I was able to do Fushimi Inari Taisha was because I am really good at pacing myself and controlling my breathing.

While in Kyoto, I also went to Zarigani (just found out it actually burned down, makes me really sad because it was really cool. https://www3.nhk.or.jp/news/html/20250121/k10014699201000.html). I really hope the Golgo 13 poster they had wasn't destroyed.

I actually had quite a bit of fun seeing the sake breweries (had a little taste too, can't complain).

And yes, there were a lot of people.

Yes, I imagine that kind of thing happens sometimes

Yes, I totally agree with you, in general the 80s, 90s and early 200s are the best for this kind of content

Ohh, that's an interesting point of view, does your mother also read light novels? How cool

Great, I imagine you have a very interesting collection, I'd love to see it sometime :)

If it can happen, we're not always going to have everything we'd like for various reasons

I hope you manage to find something that "hooks" you soon :)
