Considered "The Room" of bad anime, Hametsu no Mars has it all: a nonsensical plot, terrible animation, and bizarre music choices. Clocking in at only 19 minutes, this is a perfect entry point into "so bad it's good" anime!

Also considered by many to be the best bad anime of all time, Garzey's Wing's best feature is its laughably bad dub. It also boasts cheap animation, a plot that barely makes any sense, and an unironically good soundtrack by Shirou Sagisu (composer for Evangelion and Bleach).

Some say that Chargeman Ken is the original "so bad it's good" anime. This show is the epitome of low-budget animation. It gets so bad at points that there are visible hairs stuck on the edge on the animation cels. The episodes are short and rarely make sense. Watching large numbers of episodes one after another feels like a fever dream.

Dark Cat is a sort of so bad it's good hidden "gem". A story of true love, demons, and catboys. The animation is decent, and the plot is bizarre. Good luck trying to predict where this one's plot is going.

Vampire Wars is home to tons of 90's dub swearing and a bunch of random spy tropes mashed into a bizarre mess.

This series is shockingly bad. Main characters are animated using cheap 3D models while minor characters look like cardboard cutouts. The first couple of episodes are hilarious.

Twinkle Nora Rock Me's animation has so few frames per second that it could almost be described as a slideshow. The highlight of this being its 4-minute dance sequence.

School days is quite an infamous show. It can be a bit difficult to get through, but the ending is worth it. It's also where the "nice boat" meme comes from.

A show about a brother and sister who love each other very much. The sister is also a cannibalistic bug monster. Despite that, Pupa isn't nearly as explicit as one would expect it to be. This show's "strengths" are its hilariously low budget and ridiculous premise. Each episode is only 4 minutes long, with a 30 second OP and ED, so it's a breeze to get through!

Naria Girls is a baffling magical girl series, animated with a mix of motion-captured 3D models and still images. Large portions of the dialogue are seemingly improvised, with characters constantly talking over each other. It's definitely unique!

Another masterpiece from the same company that brought us such classics as Mars of Destruction and Skelter+Heaven. The dub is hilariously bad, and the backgrounds look like they came straight out of a PS1 game.

A show that tries so hard to be cool and edgy that it falls flat on its face. A bunch of highschoolers are told by their cellphones to do awful things or else they'll die. The vast majority of characters in this show are dangerously stupid, the "twist" makes no sense, and the ending comes out of nowhere.

Vampire Holmes isn't too bad. The series best known for its low budget and odd subtitles.
