Akira Toriyama is a Japanese manga artist and illustrator. He is well known for creating such series as Dragon Ball, Dr Slump and Sandland,etc... He also did some character design works in video games such as Dragon Quest series, Chrono Trigger and many others,.. His works such as Dragon Ball has influence/shaped the Shouen genre, how it became now with many series follow after and inspired from it. In Vietnam, his works has been well known for multiple generations along side with the big 5 series like Doraemon, Crayon Shin-Chan, Detective Conan (Case Closed), One Piece and Naruto.


Many of his series have collected over the years by Nhà xuất bản Kim Đồng (Kim Đồng Publishing House), some that hasn't license here yet, like Manga Laboratory, Kintoki and Katsura Akira ( a collaborated work with Masakazu Katsura, the creator of I"s & Zetman)
