If in all other cases I at least roughly understood the reason why some anime are underrated, then in this case I honestly don't understand anything for the first time. It's a finished story with a unique concept where adults behave like adults + has incredible op and ed, and literally no other aspect of it is bad or terrible (at worst - mediocre).

This anime is absurdly underrated. An interesting, enjoyable and intriguing detective story in an unusual setting and with unusual characters. What else do you need for a 12 episodes story?

This anime is very similar to "Parasyte: The Maxim" in its general concept and quality level, but has not received the same recognition. Both shows are great in my opinion.

A great avant-garde anime that stands for me in the same row as Serial Experiments Lain or Sonny Boy. The animation and music are also of high quality. It is not for everyone too, but I don't understand why the audience didn't like it so much.

From the description, this anime is similar to "Kino's Journey", but it is not quite so. It's more lighthearted and sweet, but sometimes has some dark twists too. And most importantly, it is very pleasant to watch.

Manga fans have destroyed the ratings for this season and they are probably right. As an adaptation of the source, it's a failure, but from an "anime only" point of view, it's not so bad. The second season was disappointing and significantly worse than the first, but not so much awful.

This OVA has a shockingly low rating. Perhaps its only significant flaw is that the first part is too incredible and thus overshadows the rest of the series. Even without this first episode, such a low score would have surprised me, but with it - it's something beyond my understanding.

This anime is known for its phenomenal level of authenticity in depicting the historical era, and this applies not only to weapons and tactics of their use, but also to everything from landscapes, architecture to clothing. This alone makes this anime a unique treasure, but it is good even for those who are not interested in all these historical stuff. Although a bit simple, it is a high-quality, coherent, balanced and, most importantly, completed story, and also quite funny in some places. Not a masterpiece, but it does not try to be one.
Overall - a very underrated anime.

This anime is already 30 years old, but it is still the best isekai in history, or at least one of the best. And yes, I watched it very recently, so I say this without any nostalgia. Vision of Escaflowne is not a "museum exhibit" at all, and is fully competitive with any modern anime without any discounts for its age. I don't know why its current score is so low, but it definitely doesn't reflect the overall quality of the show.

For some reason unknown to me, this show is extremely over-criticized. Maybe some people are just too used to certain patterns and automatically consider anything different from them to be bad? I don't know. But what I am sure of is that this anime has a cool unique concept (making up believable lies instead of solving mysteries), good production quality, enjoyable characters and great writing.

I came to see some "funny trash" and I partly got that, but at the same time it turned out to be surprisingly quality and creative in some aspects. The story is ridiculous but makes sense and holds together, the animation is normal, the jokes work, and the world and battles (their tactics) were done better than in 90% of modern isekai.

Here the situation is very similar to In/Spectre - a significant part of anime fans like everything to be as standard and patterned as possible. But to quote one of the reviews: "just because the story is told in an unorthodox way that doesn't strive to be like other animes, does not mean it is told incorrectly". Just be open to new things and enjoy the show, it has both significant pros and cons, but the overall quality is definitely much higher than its current rating.
