Akitaro Daichi is a Japanese anime director, producer and photography director.

In 1994, he attracted attention for his storyboard work on Akazukin Chacha, and in 1995 he made his debut as a series director on Nurse Angel Ririka SOS.
Kodomo no Omocha (TV)

The TV series is based on the manga series written and illustrated by Miho Obana. It is significantly different from the manga here and there. The anime is divided into two seasons: the first 51 episodes covers the elementary school story arc, while the remaining 51 episodes cover the middle school story arc.

The TV series loosely adapts the first eight volumes of the manga series of the same title written and illustrated by Natsuki Takaya. It was directed by Akitaro Daichi. During production of the series, Daichi and Takaya ran into multiple creative differences including the cast, coloring, and storytelling direction, leading Takaya to dislike the adaptation.
