A random assortment of shows that are either: Underrated, good, or 'alright.'

Shows that are 'alright' can be called trash by some, but in them, there might still be a worthwhile quality to discover.
Drifters
TV, 2016, 12 eps Me:- Author:9
Badass, metal, samurai, awesome, warriors, brutal, adventure - Good or underrated

Historical characters from Earth find themselves in another world. It's not trash, it's not generic, but boy, are some of the main characters a little overpowered in a kinda cool way.
Isekai Ojisan
TV, 2022, 13 eps Me:- Author:9
An isekai and a slice of life show - Good, 'it's alright,' or underrated

The protagonist is ugly and maybe creepy, but also wholesome...
Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari
OVA, 2009, 13 eps Me:- Author:7
A show that sometimes explores the 'isekai' aspect - Good, 'it's alright,' or underrated

A dumb harem, comedy, adventure that does its job well, in a not-so-generic setting that predates the modern isekai boom. The MC is an otherworlder and he actually behaves like one, except the fact that he's also an extraordinary dude.
Gate: Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri
TV, 2015, 12 eps Me:- Author:8
A show for people who like the feeling of superiority - Good or 'it's alright'

A neat clash of worlds, between modern Japan and a pseudo-medieval fantasy world. Of course, there is a harem that might not be so generic but the characters are actually generic except maybe a few of them.
Tondemo Skill de Isekai Hourou Meshi
TV, 2023, 12 eps Me:- Author:8
A guy cooks good food and everyone around him loves it - Good

The show offers a solid premise with a solid execution and neat visuals. The setting is a generic pseudo-medieval fantasy world but it is dealt with well in the background. The main attraction is the protagonist becoming overpowered by forming a friendship with an overpowered big wolf thing.
Tensei shitara Ken deshita
TV, 2022, 12 eps Me:- Author:9
An adventure show with a cute MC that isn't an isekai protagonist - Good, underrated, or 'it's alright

Maybe there is no reason for this to be an isekai, but a guy becomes a sword and he is now the second main character alongside the other main character, a cat girl. Although cat girls are a common trope throughout many anime, it is rare for there to be a cat girl protagonist.
Shinchou Yuusha: Kono Yuusha ga Ore Tueee Kuse ni Shinchou Sugiru
TV, 2019, 12 eps Me:- Author:7
Funny serious guy in a generic world - Good or 'it's alright'

The isekai seemed like a trash show to many, but it has been elevated to 'good' because either it is a solid show or the audience is trash. Nevertheless, the show doesn't take itself too seriously...
Isekai Izakaya: Koto Aitheria no Izakaya Nobu
ONA, 2018, 24 eps Me:- Author:8
A show about cooking food for fantasy world customers - Good or underrated

Japanese style food is served to customers of another world. There are real life video segments at the end of each episode which is neat.
Benriya Saitou-san, Isekai ni Iku
TV, 2023, 12 eps Me:- Author:9
A guy gets employed as an adventurer in a fantasy world - Good or underrated

It is a comedy show with some perverted comedy that may or may not land. The pacing of the show differs from many isekai, and it stands out as a non-generic isekai with a non-overpowered protagonist that is in a classic fantasy setting.
Isekai Shokudou
TV, 2017, 12 eps Me:- Author:9
Another show about cooking food for fantasy world customers - Good or underrated

The theme of the show is consistent throughout. There is a mix of relaxation and action, but mostly it's about food and fictional people's reactions to that food. It depicts both Western and Japanese dishes.
Otome Game Sekai wa Mob ni Kibishii Sekai desu
TV, 2022, 12 eps Me:- Author:7
Not a generic otome, but maybe trash - 'It's alright' or good

Are you frustrated with the otome genre and the insanely stupid characters in it? This show might relieve you of some of that frustration... as long as you can tolerate the MC (who is mostly tolerable.)
Seijo no Maryoku wa Bannou desu
TV, 2021, 12 eps Me:- Author:7
A solid romance where the girl is a saintess - 'It's alright' or good

Maybe generic to some, maybe worthwhile to others. At least the show focuses on genuine romance in another world.
Isekai Yakkyoku
TV, 2022, 12 eps Me:- Author:7
Overpowered medicine in a somewhat generic setting - 'It's alright'

The MC actually thinks critically about the setting he is in as a person with a medical background and an overpowered talent for magic.
Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear
TV, 2020, 12 eps Me:- Author:6
A solid cute show that is somewhat trash and generic - 'It's alright' or good

If you like bears and cutesy girly stuff with a hint of a generic setting and a overpowered MC, then this show will probably be worthwhile.
Meikyuu Black Company
TV, 2021, 12 eps Me:- Author:8
Selfish MC, and a not so generic setting - Good or 'It's alright'

Unlike most other isekai MC's, the protagonist here is bombastically selfish to the point it's somewhat fresh show with neat visuals alongside the crappiness of his actions and those around him.
Zero no Tsukaima
TV, 2006, 13 eps Me:- Author:-
Classic generic(?) isekai - Good or 'it's alright'

Common tropes found in future shows are present here but might actually be better executed.
Gaikotsu Kishi-sama, Tadaima Isekai e Odekakechuu
TV, 2022, 12 eps Me:- Author:8
Please stop comparing him to Ainz from Overlord - 'It's alright' or good or underrated

So the MC is a seemingly positive skeleton man who is not a skeleton inside a suit of armor going on an adventure in a generic isekai world but the setting is actually expanded upon throughout each episode.
Saikyou Onmyouji no Isekai Tenseiki
TV, 2023, 13 eps Me:- Author:8
A seemingly generic waste of time (not) - Underrated or 'it's alright'

This show is quietly a quality amongst many other generic isekai. The MC is not from modern Japan and already knew ancient Japanese magic, so, he is not generic...
Sentouin, Haken shimasu!
TV, 2021, 12 eps Me:- Author:-
A solid comedy adventure (unless it's not funny) - It's alright or good(?)

The main cast are bombastic and maybe entertaining. It depends on your tastes.
Ixion Saga DT
TV, 2012, 25 eps Me:- Author:8
A not so generic setting that attempts to be generic - Underrated or good

The MC has some personality and he isn't op. The rest of the cast has much more eccentric-levels of personality. The opening song is neat.
Fantasy Bishoujo Juniku Ojisan to
TV, 2022, 12 eps Me:- Author:8
A maybe funny show with 30 year old men - 'It's alright' or underrated

There is a running joke that becomes the theme of the show and it remains fairly fresh from beginning to end. Plus it has a budget kirito that might be more interesting as a character than actual Kirito from SAO, or maybe that's bs.
Tensei Kizoku, Kantei Skill de Nariagaru
TV, 2024, 12 eps Me:- Author:8
Not-so-generic Aristocrat boy MC - 'It's alright' or underrated

The show is consistent with its narrative, perhaps a bit slow. The MC might not actually be interesting, but the rest of the cast is. The show explores a specific video game related gimmick somewhat well.
Akuyaku Reijou Level 99: Watashi wa Ura-Boss desu ga Maou dewa Arimasen
TV, 2024, 12 eps Me:- Author:7
A refreshing Otome set in a generic setting - 'It's alright' or good

The MC isn't very stupid, only a little bit. The romance maybe is good, maybe not, I don't know.
Higeki no Genkyou to Naru Saikyou Gedou Last Boss Joou wa Tami no Tame ni Tsukushimasu.
TV, 2023, 12 eps Me:- Author:7
A somewhat (not very) unique Otome story - 'It's alright' or good

Some of the cast might be likeable, some of the cast might not be likeable. At least the otome protagonist does her job and uses her powers in other affairs besides romance.
Seija Musou: Salaryman, Isekai de Ikinokoru Tame ni Ayumu Michi
TV, 2023, 12 eps Me:- Author:8
Simple MC who trained to become OP - 'It's alright'

This show is not ground breaking but it fulfills its premise and does it well enough. Although, it might be very boring to some.
Saihate no Paladin
TV, 2021, 12 eps Me:- Author:8
Classic (boring?) Adventure Fantasy - Underrated or 'It's alright' or good

Resembles western roleplay gaming stories with a linear progression. But it is not set in a game world. For fantasy literature the setting is generic, for anime it is somewhat unique.
Sasaki to Pii-chan
TV, 2024, 12 eps Me:- Author:8
Both an Isekai and a Reverse Isekai - 'it's alright'

The premise is somewhat interesting, but the execution might not be so good. Multiple worlds collide, including generic medieval fantasy.
Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyou
TV, 2019, 13 eps Me:- Author:8
A popular trash show - 'It's alright' or good, or underrated

This is (or was?) known as a trash show by many, but if you give it a try it might appeal to your tastes. The MC is overpowered and he is somewhat edgy. He has a straightforward goal and along the way he collects a harem, so there's that.
Urasekai Picnic
TV, 2021, 12 eps Me:- Author:-
What is this? = Underrated

This might be more deep than it first appears... or something. I haven't watch it yet but it gives off unique vibes. Give it a shot.
Kenja no Mago
TV, 2019, 12 eps Me:- Author:6
Generic 'that's isekai trash!' - 'It's alright'

MC is overpowered but he isn't very unlikable. Standard premise with an okay execution. Overall, there is a positive vibe to the show.
100-man no Inochi no Ue ni Ore wa Tatteiru
TV, 2020, 12 eps Me:- Author:7
Maybe edgy, maybe trash, maybe both - Underrated or 'It's alright'

An adventure story with multiple seasons and a regular cast of characters that work together well, somewhat. At first this appears like a generic setting, and maybe it is, but it is at least expanded and there are moral dilemmas at play.
Jidou Hanbaiki ni Umarekawatta Ore wa Meikyuu wo Samayou
TV, 2023, 12 eps Me:- Author:8
Maybe funny gimmick that actually works - 'It's alright'

It executes the whole concept of the protagonist being a vending machine in another world very well. But of course, that isn't for everyone.
Shining Tears X Wind
TV, 2007, 13 eps Me:- Author:6
Boringish adventure - 'It's alright'

Different from modern isekai, it follows some older tropes. This show isn't a masterpiece, but it's more or less a solid adventure story with a cast of multiple humans from Earth in another world.
Isekai One Turn Kill Neesan: Ane Douhan no Isekai Seikatsu Hajimemashita
TV, 2023, 12 eps Me:- Author:7
Echii video game related trash - 'It's alright'

This isn't set in a video game, but the protagonist is the standard video game freak with an overprotective sister who is a brocon for him. Protagonist is weak, but sister is overpowered.
Tensei Kenja no Isekai Life: Dai-2 no Shokugyou wo Ete, Sekai Saikyou ni Narimashita
TV, 2022, 12 eps Me:- Author:8
Boring/Generic Adventure - 'It's alright...'

The show isn't underrated, but it has a quality that might appeal to some: chill, slow adventure in another world with an overpowered MC without a harem of girls, but a harem of cute(?) slime.
Buta no Liver wa Kanetsu Shiro
TV, 2023, 12 eps Me:- Author:8
Trash anime(?) - Underrated

At first glance, this anime is trash. But, perhaps it's just the protagonist, a self proclaimed trash pig (who is an underpowered MC.)
Hachi-nan tte, Sore wa Nai deshou!
TV, 2020, 12 eps Me:- Author:7
Trash Adventure Harem - 'It's alright'

Retro adventure anime opening song. Maybe a likeable cast of characters...
Kono Sekai wa Fukanzen Sugiru
TV, 2024, 13 eps Me:- Author:6
Video game related - Underrated or Alright

Follows a unique topic with a somewhat unique setting and not an overpowered MC.
