This is supposed to be canon, taking place at the same time that the Sanctuary Saga, but let's pretend this aberration never existed.
The Manga is good, but the anime adaptation is horrible. Besides, it's not complete.

Toei used to make movies based on their most popular series out of the main continuity.
However the Saint seiya movies belong to an alternate continuity where they actually happened.
This first movie comes after the Sanctuary Saga.
This was the basis for Saintia Sho.

This second movie comes after the first one.
It was the basis for the Asgard Saga.

The third movie takes place after the Poseidon Saga.
This one is the favorite of the fans.

The last movie released in the 80's.

Although the manga ended in 1990, it wasn't until 2002 that Toei decided to start to adapt the Hades Saga.
This first bunch of OVAs adapts Volume 19-22.

The second bunch of OVAs adapts Volume 23-26.

This series is just a giant commercial for Bandai toyline of the Gold Saints.

The last bunch of OVAs adapts Volume 27-28.

Omega: Saint Seiya Next Generations.

This was supposed to be the first movie in a sequel tetralogy, but there were no more sequels.
It's not canon anymore since the release of Omega.

Based in the Spin-off manga by Shiori Teshirogi. It is completely faithful to the original manga, an anomaly in Saint Seiya Franchise.
This first season covers until chapter 54.

The second season covers until chapter 95

Toei has been trying to introduce Saint Seiya to the American Market since the 80's, this was their third try (the first two were an unreleased live action and an unrleased animated series, both made in america).
