“No can do. You have forced my hand.” Urokodaki tsked as he gathered up the squirming boy, one hand latched to his belly while the other kept his arms out of range. “Maybe if you weren’t such a brat today, this wouldn’t be necessary?”
“Oo, he got you there.” Giyu pointed out, shrinking some when the mask turned to him. “Sorry Sensei.”
“Focus on your meditation, Giyu.”
“Nohohoho! Doohohhohn’t do thahaht! Hehehehelp mehehehe insteahhdhhahd!” Sabito cackled out, kicking his feet in the air like he could run on it. “Rehehehebehehehel Ghiihihiyu!”
“You really are in a mood today, aren’t you?” Urokodaki readjusted, scooting his arm up and his hand into Sabito’s upper ribs. The peach haired boy squealed and spasmed. “What’s going on with you? You’re normally so well behaved.”
“He wants attention.” Giyu offered up, ignoring the betrayed look Sabito shot him. “He told me so the other day.”
“Gihihihiyu, shuhuhuhuhsh!”
“Did he now?” Urokodaki paused his tickles, giving Sabito much needed air. “Is this true, Sabito?”
“Ehehe..ehehhe..c-cohohome on, dohohhon’t just ahhask me that! It’s embahahrrasing!” He tugged his fox mask over his face to hide his growing blush, but a few tickles to his armpits had him talking. “Ohoohkay, ohohohkay fihihihne, I mihihihihihssed you!”
“Oh?” Urokodaki once more paused, this time lowering Sabito to his feet. “But I haven’t left?”
“Yohohoho’ve been trahhaining Makohhomo one on ohohohne lately. I guess I just got lonely.” Sabito folded his hands and looked away, mask unable to conceal the blush spreading up his ears. “I get it. I know she’s new and needs to catch up. I’m happy you’re training her. I just..I don’t know. I think I got used to us training one on one.” He bowed his head. “Sorry Sensei. I know I’m being selfish.”
Urokodaki didn’t say anything, but Giyu was around the older man long enough now to know what he was thinking. He smiled as he watched a hand rest on Sabito’s head. “We’re having a hotpot tonight.”
“Huh?” Sabito blinked. “Why?”
“Bonding over a meal is the best way to do so.” The older man nodded, and Sabito perked up, removing his mask. “I’m sorry for making you feel forgotten. Let me make it up to you. To both of you.” He nodded at Giyu, and while the brunette never felt lonely, he wasn’t about to turn down one of Urokodaki’s famous hotpots.
“Okay!”

Shinobu likes watching Mitsuri sit by the bridge. Thereʼs a spot right next to it where the sun reflects off the water in a way that makes the light dance and watching it dance around Mitsuri is the most beautiful sight in the world. If it were possible, Shinobu would stop time right in this moment to look at it forever. I want to look at you every second for the rest of my life, Mitsuri.

She really does and deep down, Shinobu is not sure if she wants to find out why. But of course she does. This is her best friend. If anyone should go stargazing with Mitsuri, it should be Shinobu. I want to be the one to make your eyes shine like this, Mitsuri.

Stupid, stupid question. Of course Mitsuri is excited, everything about her is screaming amazement. And why wouldnʼt she be excited? The person she has loved for the past two years asked her to go stargazing and coming from that particular person, that is almost a marriage proposal. And Shinobu is here, acting just as excited when the person she has loved for the past three years has been asked to go stargazing by someone else.
Itʼs not the worst thing in the world and she knows that, but then why does it make her feel a little dead on the inside? Like nothing really matters right now, except for Mitsuri and her smile. Shinobu could look at that smile forever and if she could go back in time to five seconds ago and stop the world right then and there, back to when she could pretend that smile was meant just for her, she would. Wouldnʼt. Mitsuri is excited about this, she would never ruin it. She would never prevent this from happening if it makes Mitsuri so happy, even though itʼs wrong. Even though it should be us, Mitsuri.
