Birds On Statues

  • I said in one of my previous posts that I would do a series on statues, which I have been photographing quite a lot lately, but I also noticed that I had a few pictures that featured birds sitting on tops of statues. All of these are from my recent trip to London.

First we have a pigeon on top of Mahatma Gandhi in Parliament Square. Gandhi has made an appearance on this blog before, or a statue…

  • Red Telephone Box

  • This weekend’s Weekly Prompts Colour Challenge is Red, and this is my contribution to it: the iconic English telephone box. This one is located in London on the Whitehall.

It was the Weekly Prompts blog itself that gave me this idea: one the pictures in their header image is a red telephone box (in fact, if I’m not mistaken, it’s the same place) and I remembered I took this photo on my trip to…

  • Autumn In St James’s Park, London

  • Winter is steadily approaching, but if you can’t let go of autumn, here’s some pictures of autumnal St James’s Park. According to their website, as it is bordered by three royal palaces, it’s the most royal of London’s royal parks. The royallest then?

    Trafalgar Square.

Admiral Nelson column in Trafalgar Square. As…

  • Houses of Parliament, London

  • I’m sure you’ve all heard of it, so here it is! Palace of Westminster, also known as the Houses of Parliament.

Big Ben. The tower is actually called Elizabeth Tower and it’s the bell that is named Big Ben. But the whole world knows it as Big Ben. It has recently been renovated, I think it looks pretty, don’t you?

The architecture of the palace is really something else.

    I wanted to capture as…

  • London Calling!

  • So what’s been happening is that I took a short trip to London (two full days, three nights at a hotel) and, as expected, took a lot of pictures, more than I meant to, actually. I’ve gone through all of them and now comes the as ever difficult task of deciding what to post on the blog. In the meantime, here is a smartphone shot of one of the most recognisable landmarks in the world.

    I’ve lived…
