Today is Mărțișor, the first of March, an ancient tradition marked by Romanians and Moldovans that celebrates the coming of spring, and is also the name of the symbolic red and white string talisman that is given on this day. On the final day of March, the mărțișor is hung on the branch of a fruit tree.

Snowdrops are one of the first flowers to emerge after a long winter in Eastern Europe, and to many, represent hope.

I’ve been looking through Marketplace for some home goods for my new apartment and I keep falling in love with vintage vanities..

My holiday cards are out!!

I loved designing the illustrations for these - the brief was to use midcentury stamp designs as inspiration while making them fresh and modern. I don’t normally create quite so many sketches for a client but I couldn’t help myself with this concept. You can see how while small details change.. I tend to be a person who sticks quite closely to my original sketches to finals.
