A map is a representation of a place, usually drawn on a flat surface. It shows how things are related to each other in terms of their locations, distances, and sizes.

When I taught first grade, it was difficult finding maps simple enough for my first graders to read. So I created resources to help students read and create simple maps, as well as resources to teach first graders about Virginia state geography. Keep reading to learn more!
