Playing with a birthing/exercise ball has many benefits for sensorimotor development, including:
🦣 Deep pressure input to the joints
🦣 Proprioception
🦣 Vestibular development
🦣 Core strength
🦣 Sensory integration
🦣 Body awareness
🦣 Regulation & calming

It also supports the development of baby’s gross motor skills- Allowing baby to push and move the ball supports their overall strength, balance, coordination and muscle development.

You can place your hands on the ball to help stabilise it and control the speed and direction that it moves in.

NB: Always closely supervised baby when playing with a therapy ball, and make sure the environment is safe, as babies at this developmental stage often tumble and fall.

Exploring Sticky! 🖐🏼 Introducing Rory’s new favourite game! A length of sticky tape with balls stuck, for her to pull or smack off! 😋 Rory (6.5 months) is getting so confident with moving & reaching whilst sitting! This little invitation was so easy to set up & kept her busy, swatting balls before I even had a chance to stick them back up! This would make a great tummy time activity too; allowing your Baby to shift body weight, balance & reach - all skills needed in preparation for crawling Baby Development Activities, Diy Kids Games, Baby Sensory Play, Baby Play Activities, Learning Games For Kids, Busy Boxes, Baby Activities, Baby Learning Activities, Baby Education
