How to Knit Tinsel - or a Featherless Boa

I've been making Christmas decorations for my local Maker Space, and the theme for the Christmas tree this year was "Let's have a greener Christmas!". We aimed to use surplus craft items and biodegradable materials to make decorations out of objects that might otherwise have been thrown away. Occasionally our Maker Space is given yarn from people clearing out their yarn stash and someone kindly donated 7 balls of this green crochet yarn to our craft group. DIY: Yarn Wreath With A Twist

So ya'll remember my little yarn wreath project I blogged about the other day, right? Well after seeing this tutorial I made another wreath perfect for Christmastime, following the same instructions as the yarn wreath, and I love the results. The tinsel was a $5 Wal Mart find and the felt, wreath form, and ribbon I already had. I think I am turning into a wreathaholic and I need to be stopped. ; ) xoxo

I hope this video answers some of them! ○The card I used was 5cm in width and 41cm in length. I taped the sides with sellotape so that the yarn wouldn't get snagged on the sides when I was pulling it off. Don't wrap the yarn too tightly either! You can also use a wide ruler, which is easier, but I didn't have one. 😑 ○I used masking tape to tape the yarn because that was all I had, and I wasn't waiting to make this! Painters tape or brown craft tape would be better. ○I used a straight stitch on the lowest setting on my sewing machine, which is 0.
