If you’re struggling with traditional step-ups, this variation might be just what you need. The movement mimics step-ups, targeting the same muscle groups, but in reverse—you’re stepping down instead of up. 

That said, most gyms only have one or two of these machines, and they’re typically used for pull-ups. So if you decide to give this exercise a try, please be considerate of others who may need to use the machine for its intended purpose.
