11K views · 510 reactions | My general purpose potting mix recipe for most aroids: -40% potting mix or coco cuir (I love using Ocean Forest Foxfarm) -20% fir bark -20% perlite or pumice -10% coconut husk -10% worm compost I swap out my potting mix with cactus soil whenever I repot hoyas or a snake plant and even add a handful of horticultural charcoal. If I am repotting a Fiddle Leaf Fig, I do 20% potting mix + 20% cactus soil and the rest are the same quantities. If a plant is prone to root rot, I decrease my potting mix to 30% and increase my fir bark to 30%. See where I am going with all this? Depending on the type of plant, I play around with the ingredients and ratios. Remember there are many ways to do it because every household is different!
